Big City Brows and Beauty Spa — Attraction in Cottonwood Heights

You can tell that Vanessa has found her craft, and her calling in life. Not only does she cater to every single detail, she has an incredible line of products that made me go home and put all of my store brand products to the side. Most places book you for an hour/ 90 mins and give you your service, you pay, and you leave. Vanessa's studio feels like home. She gives advice on your skin and throws in things that you may not even know you need. Her products are so good that I called her 3 days after the service to see if I could come back in before my next treatment to buy some. I started with the face wash, spray toner, and velvet healing moisturizer. I have always had complicated / combination skin, and have always worn foundation to work and other events. A few days after the treatment, was the first time in over 10 years I went to work with glowing skin and no foundation. There are so many wonderful things that came out of my experience at Big City Brows and Spa, but this one was truly shocking.

The ambiance when you walk into Vanessa's spa studio is elegant, classy, and comfortable. She designed and decorated the entire place, and it feels like you have stepped into a princess palace. Vanessa greets you warmly, sets you up on a warm bed with really soft blankets, and goes above and beyond on whichever service you book. In addition to my facial, Vanessa gave me an incredible massage, tinted (and waxed) my eyebrows, and even spent the time educating me on my new surroundings in SLC. She is very personable, professional, and her facial (and massage) is the best I have ever received in all my years of experience with different estheticians from NYC. I thought that it may take me a few tries to find the right one, but I have no interest in going to anyone other than Vanessa from here on out. We had a little extra time at the end so she did a lash lift which I had never done, and it came out so good! I stopped wearing mascara after that too, and 3 weeks later, they are still looking awesome.

I did a tremendous amount of research to find Vanessa, and I am so glad that I did. I relocated from NYC a month ago and noticed that my skin was really dry and looking rough. I went to Vanessa for what I thought was going to be a regular facial, and I left her studio feeling like royalty. Pampered and catered to for hours, I felt the most refreshed and relaxed I have ever felt after a facial treatment, which is not at all what I expected from what I thought was going to be a simple facial service. It was as if I had spent a day at the Spa with my own personal skincare guru.

When they say you get what you pay for, I find Vanessa's services to go above and beyond what you pay for, and the customer service and experience of her personalized treatment is priceless. I was losing my mind during quarantine without being able to get a facial. I have had pretty good skin growing up until I hit my mid 20s. Out of no where, my skin was always dry and I had cystic acne erupting all over the bottom half of my face around my chin and lower cheek area. I tried everything. It might be easier to get rid of acne when your skin is oiler because you can dry it out but I was in the dumps, dryer than ever, and wouldn't ever take photos. I started going to the spa for microdermabrasions and it did help my skin a bit I will be honest. So when quarantine hit and I couldn't go to the spa my skin was in need of emergency skin help. The spa I was going too consistently was taking forever to open back up so I was forced to look for another place online. Big city Brows came up when I was looking for a facial and between the reviews I read online (alllll 5 stars which is kind of unheard of) and my first interaction over the phone with all sorts of questions-- I was immediately comforted. I only needed a facial but decided to give my brows a shape up since brows is in the business name. Well friends, I will never go anywhere else ever!!!! The results I have received after my first time there are insane. I look so much fresher and younger. I will never get a microdermabrasion again, its just too rough for my skin. I got the hydra facial and my skin is so soft and smooth. It's amazing. I never knew I could look this good. I literally know I'm bragging but I am totally comfortable about it because it's true. I am just so ecstatic I found this place. Also, my brows have changed my face. In a good way. When I came home, I kept catching my fiancé staring at me. He was checking me out!!! He said I looked different but better different. I ended up going all out and have no regrets. I also got the lash lift and I rarely wear makeup now. Vanessa provides one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had with my brows! Being a girl who's been timid to get my brows waxed or styled she's shown me the holy grail of a custom brow shaping experience! She took the time to listen to what I was looking for, offered amazing genuine advice and kept me in loop as she shaped them! She educated me on my face and bone structure and how it would compliment different styles, informed me on where I could improve or enhance certain aspects. She took the time to have me see how they were coming along and gave me options on how we could shape them more. While she does wax and use different methods, for me she took the care to individually pluck and shape me!

Not only is she AMAZINGLY skilled her craft, but she welcomes you in like you are one of her best friends! Even though I only come in every 3-4 years she always remembers me! I saw her a week before my wedding and gave me so many pointers and tips on how to accentuate my brows on my wedding day. Being such a stressful time she made me feel so at ease and I had no hesitation in entrusting her to shape my brows perfectly with only a week before the big day!

To top it off she gave me her personal number in case I needed anything and gave me product recommendations for my skin and makeup!

She's moved locations in the time I have known her and she has upheld the amazing atmosphere and vibe seamlessly!
