This is the first review I have ever written. I feel so strongly and passionately about this studio and the team there, that I want anyone out there looking for a Pilates studio to know that this is the one to go to.
I had been interested in Pilates for quite some time, but not sure where to even start. Years of working at a desk on computers had caught up to me and the amount of pain I felt in my arm and wrist pushed me to take the fist step. I was hoping that Pilates would not only give me a workout, but help to relieve some of the pain that years of neglect, injuries, and poor posture had created. After researching the studios in the area and checking reviews I decided to try Intermountain Pilates Training Center (IPTC).
IPTC offers a package deal of 3 private sessions that I talked my husband into getting me for a birthday present. We emailed the team and I had my first session with Natalie within the week. She was very supportive of my work schedule and made me feel extremely welcomed. Within the first 30 minutes I was sold! Past knee injuries have kept me from doing a lot of the activities that I use to do. We worked on the supporting structure of the knee, proper alignment, and strengthening. I felt like I got an amazing workout with no stress on my knee, shoulder, or wrist. I work in the computer industry and think very logically. Natalie was so knowledgeable on body mechanics and proper form and technique that the overly structured side of my brain was so relieved to have someone helping me with proper form and not just putting me through the motions.
After completing my 3 private sessions, I decided to sign up for group classes (IPTC offers package deals on those as well). I was very nervous to start the group sessions not only because I was so new to Pilates and the equipment, but nervous that I would be judged for being overweight and uncoordinated. I wanted that support and attention to correct my form if needed and I wasn’t sure if you could do that in a group setting. The instructors at IPTC are so incredible. They put you through a tough workout while still maintaining that 1-on-1 attention to make corrections where needed. The atmosphere is so supportive and welcoming that all levels of fitness and Pilates experience get an incredible workout. They truly focus on promoting a strong supportive community that even with insecurities I felt good in.
Jenny, the owner, has worked hard to create a staff of such talented and supportive people. Most of the team has a background in body mechanics, anatomy, kinesiology, personal training, dance, etc and really do want to help people live life to the fullest by promoting health. It is a full package studio.
Pilates has literally changed my life. I was unable to put weight on my wrist and shoulder without extreme pain. I can now do planks and pushups with no pain at all. My posture is improving, I am loosing weight, and I just recently started to trail run again.
I have started to take some of the trainer courses they offer at the studio as well in hopes that I can start teaching some of my family members and help them to live a better life and relieve some of the pain they have.
I know this is a long review, but this studio and Pilates community is like no other. The team is amazing and Pilates really will help you in your day-to-day. I wish I had started this...
Read moreI have been taking private, and group Pilates, Jumpboard, TRX, and Barre clesses here for almost five years, and I still love it! It has truly changed my life and strengthened my body in ways I didn't know was possible. I love that all the teachers are certified instructors and very knowledgable. It is a fun positive atmosphere and as hard as it is I still look forward to my classes there three times a week! Jenny will even give you your first class for free so give it a try. I promise you will be hooked...
Read moreUnprofessional. Unable to communicate within 24 hours. I registered for STOTT training and repeatedly needed to ask for information that was not given in time. Day before the training the schedule that was emailed to me was incorrect and enough of a difference that I could not switch four days of classes and clients to accommodate this. I own my own massage therapy practice and would deem this all very unprofessional. The only saving grace is they refunded my payment. I will be taking my...
