tldr: a line of cars was wrapped around the store because the shop closed right 9 and didn't tell the next customers in line. The line of 4 cars didn't realize it for 20 minutes because service had been that slow to begin with.
This was at the Cottonwood Heights, UT location.
I arrived at the drive through at 8:30ish. There was a long line, but I’ve been super excited to try this new place so I stayed anyways. I (and obviously many others) didn’t realize that closing time was at 9.
The line was so slow. They take your order at the window and then get your food... or so I assume. The person in front of me got their order, by the time it got to be my turn, it had already been 30 minutes, but it’s one of those things where you’ve stayed long enough that you feel like you can’t just give up.
I waited at the window for 20+ minutes before I realized no one was coming. (The cars in front of me had waited a long time before they had even gotten their order taken so it didn’t seem unreasonable to wait) I googled it and realized they had closed 20 minutes prior.
I get it. I came late. I didn’t look at the closing time. What I don’t understand or look kindly upon was the fact that the store was no longer serving customers, yet they didn’t give me and 3 customers behind me the courtesy of...
Read moreMmm mmm mmm! I've had the main competitor some of the negative reviews are referring to, and Twisted Sugar is by far better. Though I'm not a fan in general of icing on cookies, I think Twisted Sugar does it just right- their main Twisted Sugar cookie is phenomenal. The texture is perfect, it tastes like key lime pie, and the level of sweetness isn't cloying since they give you that lime on top to cut through! I also tried their Rocky Road, Lemon Sugar, and Samoa. The strong chocolate flavor of the Rocky's cookie base was delicious, but I wouldn't get it again due to how off the ratio of icing to cookie was, which did make that one way too sweet for me. All the flavors combined though did taste like I was eating Rocky Road ice cream (my fav!). The Lemon Sugar was like the Twisted Sugar in that the ratio of icing to cookie base was perfect, and the lemon's tartness came through enough to cut the sweetness of the cookie. The Samoa was also amazing due to how prominent the coconut flavor was, and again the ratio of icing/cookie was 👌 so I'll definitely be getting that again. Lastly, the price and size of these are what make them better than the main competitor. I'll definitely be back, but I've learned my lesson to stick with the simpler, less...
Read moreI never leave reviews. I love twisted sugar and I am leaving this review in hopes that they will do something about this. The line is so painfully slow, I can't come here anymore. I am an avid customer. It has always been kind of slow, but the past six months has gotten so bad, it's not worth coming. I'm disappointed because I love their drinks and cookies. Seriously if there are 3 or more cars in front of me, I know I will be there 20+ minutes. I order one drink and sometimes wait 5 minutes for one drink. I Don't know what they are doing in there. I really hope they figure this issue out. Other drink places with 10+ cars in the line have you in and out and 5 minutes. I hope they can improve their system. A lot of the Employees seems very poorly trained recently as well....
