One of the great and evocative historical venues of Salt Lake County. This old paper mill was established by the Deseret News in 1883. It has been long abandoned, but its setting and architectural beauty call out for it to be saved for some worthy purpose before it deteriorates beyond restoration. Unfortunately, it now stands condemned and there is a fine to be levied on anyone who trespasses on the property. Yet it's still very much worth a stop in the adjacent parking lot for a long moment of appreciation. See it before someone with blue prints and a Caterpillar decides the property should become a housing development.

I passed by in the winter extremely beautiful after all this time! Sad to see money put into preventing explorers instead of renovations to the building. Would die to see it become an event center or something else in my lifetime!❤ 8/10 Rich history, beautiful exterior(minus the steel plating and broken windows) Suprised the tower is still standing! Hoping to go inside one day when it's in better condition. P.S wouldn't reccomend exploring heard from a few friends that the floors are Paper thin. Even the exterior is slowly decaying, Stay safe explorers!

I love this place when I was a kid they used to have a haunted house here every year it was the best It is also considered one of Utah's most haunted places too! I used to know one of the care takers his name was Randy Nielsen he uses to drive a Hearse around for his regular car the first time I met him I was around 14 and he was 19 he bought me some cigarettes and took me for a ride in his Hearst we drove thru the old mill road and when I looked at speedometer we were going around 120 mph I remember thinking to myself I don't want to die in a Hearse He use to let the old mill use his Hearse and coffin for the haunted house and he also was a stunt man for some things that were filmed there Later on he died some people say that it was an accident other's said it was suicide. Either way RIP Randy I Remember one time I was sitting at my house and Randy pulled up in his hearse and opened his back door up and pulled the coffin out and dumped my uncle Dave out on the Ground!!! Apparently my uncle tripped out at the Bullards And went after somebody, and passed out and they picked him up and took him home! Crazy world. I wasn't to fond of my uncle because I remember bidding in a closetfrom him when I was young he was...
