Ordered off of grubhub which may not have been smart considering its sushi but I am very picky about my sushi and I looked up reviews for this place before I considered ordering and it had good reviews for the most part so I went a head and ordered because my favorite sushi place doesn't offer delivery so figured I would try a new place. I ordered the Vegas roll and it has now been 6 hours after I ate the food and I am very nauseous and sick to my stomach. I know it wasn't any other food because this was my first meal of the day besides a banana I had for breakfast. Sushi was clearly bad or not preped well. My fiance told me he had a bad feeling about me ordering from a new sushi place I've never tried. I should have listened. I'm now up at 1 in the morning unable to sleep due to being sick. Also the roll did taste a bit off but I didn't think much of it because a new place could just make it a bit differently than I am used to (this is my favorite roll at other sushi places) also it didn't come with eel sauce which is weird because Ive never had a Vegas roll not come with eel...
Read moreHappy Sumo in Cottonwood Height is our favorite restaurant, well, it used to be. Today after we waited a long time, the server brought my husband’s food and told me, “Your Vegas role will be here soon. “ my husband didn’t touch his good and waited so we eat together. We waited for another 20-25 more minutes when she came and said, “ Sorry, somebody else took your Vegas role.” I got really upset and told her that we are going there often and this never happened, then I told her to forget about my order and later I talked to the manager who was apologetic and respectful. Usually we have a different server who is very friendly and attentive. We always tip her 20-25%. Today’s server wouldn’t even stop by to ask if we are ok or if the appetizers were ok. We are not white and probably she thought we won’t tip her well so why bother. This behavior affects the resturant’s public image. My review is based on today’s visit only. My husband and I often busy with work and finally we got a time to eat out. She ruined our night...
Read moreBrutal with a capital B. Never been to a sushi place before that employs line cooks that have to ask what each item is. I ordered Unagi and got cold unari. Got a replacement, no sauce. The ginger was freshly shaved, off the back of a homeless person. I mean really nasty. Ordered a Diva roll with macadamia nuts, my favorite. Got sesame seeds instead. Spicy tuna? Nope, got generic California roll crab filler in 3 different things. All in all a waste of $75. The pre-made sushi at Dan’s or Smiths is better. And cheaper. I counted 17 people working at 7:30 pm, only 10 customers. Rough night. On a positive note, my server was very polite, attentive, and the hostess out front kept my water filled because well, there was no one coming in to seat. Those two are the only reason I’m leaving 2 stars instead...
