Mount Hope Foods - Naturally — Attraction in Cottonwood

Let me start this review with I had loved Mount Hope thought they were one of the best Health Food stores, but not anymore. I was in there yesterday and purchased one of their plant based protein powder meals. It's called Nature Plus Spiru-tein. I admit I did not read the ingredients before purchasing this product because of my high regard for this store. I had a drink this morning made with it and wondered why it was so sweet so I read the ingredients. the 4th ingredient was FRUCTOSE!!!!!!! Why they put poison in a healthy drink is beyond me. I call it poison because this is what FRUCTOSE CAN DO TO YOU: Ingestion of fructose chronically has contributed to multiple health consequences, such as insulin resistance, obesity, liver disorders, and diabetes. Fructose metabolism starts with fructose phosphorylation by fructose kinase in the liver, and this process is not feedback regulated.

Today I went into mount hope with my newborn and my mom to look for some natural supplements to help breast feeding and maybe something natural to help babies with gas. The two ladies that were helping were extremely rude and wouldn’t just show us where the baby stuff was. I felt they were being judgmental about my decision to give my baby medicine because he is 4 days old… by the way they also seemed concerned that he was out and about at 4 days old. one lady was like why don’t you take classes for baby massage… my mother already knows baby massage by the way… and also said it was probably my diet… I just wanted them to show me where some gas medicine was like I asked. I am a cottonwood local and shop at Mt. Hope weekly as I don’t have time in my schedule to drive to shop in Sedona, although it would save me hundreds of dollars. It’s convenient for me to get what I need at Mount Hope and I prefer to support local. However, there is a woman employee who is so extremely rude to me on every. Single. Encounter. It’s enough to make me not want to come back, it is like she singles me out. We almost bumped in to each other once coming around an aisle corner, I apologized, she glared at me and huffed! My most recent visit I asked her for help to find a specific tincture (I had tried finding it on my own first), she looked me up and down like I was an idiot and asked if I had “tried looking in the tincture aisle” with a snarky voice.
