Batteries Plus — Attraction in Creve Coeur

I went in to buy a replacement battery for my key fob, normally a 5 to $10 item for 2 batteries . Matt who helped me did what they often do, and put a new battery in for me. It takes 30 seconds and I could do it myself. He rings me up For $18 for one four dollar battery then says the extra is a service charge for putting the battery in. As simple as putting batteries in s flashlight? I made them take it out and told him I just wanted to buy the batteries and I’ll do it myself. . This is a complete scam to take Advantage of people who don’t know any better. Good thing I’m not one of them. I’ve been a customer here for years, but that’s probably the last time I’m stepping foot in batteries plus. At a very minimum, if they’re gonna charge for a service, they should at least mention it before they just go ahead and do it without asking.

In response to the "owner" comment below. You would never know that transparency is your priority based on my experience. Not only did you try charging me for something bogus that I never agreed to, when I was told to go ahead and try my credit card again the screen continued to displayed the same $18 total which I pointed out to Matt..He says it would be fine and that it just shows that total but I would only get charged the $8 for the battery purchase. He said he'd have to restart the transaction otherwise. I had him restart it so that it was clear I'd only be charged for the batteries.

He did not put together my key fob after taking it apart, kept the battery I came in with, though low in juice was still able to unlock my car, and didn't offer me scissors to open the plastic packaging on the new battery, knowing I'd have to figure out how to get it open to get back into my car. So I sat outside on a bench and tore it open with my teeth.

Big fail on both Transparency...

Yesterday I found myself in a desperate situation after I'd dropped my phone for what I assumed was the last time. Not only was the screen already cracked, now it was even more cracked and the display appeared to be damaged. I had no idea what to do because typically in the past I'd have time to wait until I could afford to buy a new one and replace it. Now I had neither time nor the money so I was panicking.

After a quick google search for places that do cell phone repair, I found the link to this location's website and saw that they offer free diagnostics and so I set up an appointment for the next day.

I came in this morning and the older gentleman who spoke to me was professional, kind and patient which is not something I've come to expect from this type of business or similar(mechanics, hardware stores etc.).

Needless to say my phone is back in my hands for less than I would have paid for a new/used iphone, and it was all done within a couple of hours. I was even surprised they were able to fit me in on a Friday. For me and my current situation this experience was a life saver. I'm really glad I chose this location and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you to the staff here!

side note: I wish I would have taken before and after pics. It's in better condition than I left it in with them...

THEY DO NOT INSTALL CAR BATTERIES!!!! 100% COMPLETELY UNSATISFIED! I've bought my past 2 car batteries from this company and I haven't ever had a problem until tonight. I bought a battery online for store pickup and when I asked the guy if they install batteries he kind of hesitated and begrudgingly asked what kind of vehicle I had only to tell me they don't install car batteries in my vehicle. The other location didn't seem to have any problems installing my last two batteries???? Why couldn't this location do it??? Ill check with corporate in the morning to make sure the information he gave me was correct. I had my money refunded and I WILL NEVER shop at this company again! I called corporate this morning and was told that the staff at this location can choose weather or not that install your batteries. So I guess because it was cold outside and it was 7 pm I was just inconveniencing the staff at this location. Call AAA if you need a new car battery installed. They will come to your home or business and determine if you even need a new battery. They explain all of their options and install the battery...
