Marshalls — Local services in Creve Coeur

I adore this store. This is my go-to store for everything; I visit it once a week. However, this time, I had a bad experience with the store associate —I'm not sure what her name is—when I went there to get a lunch box because mine broke and I needed it immediately to pack my lunch. When I got there, there were three boxes inside; I could see the top, smaller box, but not the bottom, larger one. The box wasn't even wrapped in plastic, or rather, it wasn't packed so I couldn't open it. It was only the little piece of tape that was in the box, which you can reattach. I tried to check inside the larger lunchbox after opening the tiny tape, but she walked over and informed me that because I opened the box, I have to pay for it even though I don't like it. I work in sales as well, and we never tell customers not to open something if it's easily packed or request pay just because they open it. It's simply a lunch box; it's not food. I would have given no stars, but I have to give one. I usually don't have issues when shopping at Marshals. But on this last experience around 6:20 on 12/20/17 I experienced the worst customer service ever from cashier #4 and her buddie. They were very rude and disrespectful as I was trying to make a return. And I'm leaving this review in hope that management will look into the situation and correct their cashiers. I feel as though I was treated differently because of the color of my skin, even though the cashiers were of the same ethnicity. The lady did not greet me and they gave me a hard time about my return. The other lady told her to throw the pants away because they had been worn and I thought that was very disrespectful. Those two girls were disgusting and that is not the type of experience someone wants to have when they're in a store. I will shop at Marshals, but I will never return to this Marshals in Creve Ceour at Olive and...

Like other Marshalls I've been to, there is not much besides clothing. Their other departments are weak, but that's just the nature of this chain. I appreciate the relative cleanliness of this location.

Where they lose a star is the random obstacles they leave in the aisles. My wife and I had to move things that were in the way of items we wanted to look at. One of those obstacles is shown in an attached picture. Obviously, that stuff is meant to be stocked, but I feel like that could be a danger for younger children or...
