Fannie May — Attraction in Crystal Lake

So I and a few of my clients I referred to this store. Normal shop at this location. So today is my ladies BornDay. Long story short, she at work I got off late. Wanted to get her, her favorite mint chocolates. Got to the store at 6:55 pm. I know they close at 7pm. But after I pulled up before I can grab my wallet and exit the vehicle. The young man working walks over to the and turns the sign over. So I proceeded any way to the door thinking. He was doing it so that no one else would come in after me. Nope he signaled they was close. I was in disbelief, well kinda, kinda the world we live in. Any hoot, I just wanted to grab a box of mints to take to her at work because she was working on her BornDay. An it wouldn’t have taken but a min or two. Safe to say I and my clients won’t be shopping at this...

I was shocked at the lack of friendly staff at this location. I have been enjoying Fannie May chocolate since I was a child. I always buy pixies and the meltaways for special occasions. I regularly shop local or family owned. Not only were they out behind the counter they did'nt have any on the shelf. The sales girl promptly turned her back on me when I asked if they were out. The sign on the doors were expired so that sale was over. With Covid I expected them to also follow the allowed limit of shoppers in the building. You couldn't stand in one spot and be 6 ft away from anyone. Never will I be going out of my way to visit this location. Besides, Jewel is always in stock and at this time of year...

I stopped here to pick out some chocolate on my way to visit my Grandmother in the nursing home. I wanted a custom one pound box of half mint meltaways and half pixies. Peggy suggested getting two half pound boxes to keep the pixies from smelling like mint and saved me four dollars in the process! Very helpful...
