My intention was not to put your business into a bad light per se. I just wish that me and my girlfriend would have had the proper equipment or at least knowledge that the area was going to be dusty and full of rocks. We're out of town tourists. We are not familiar with the area at all. That is what we rely on rental companies for. Maybe I should've reached out during the trip. Time just goes by fast out there when you're going in circles trying to find your route. The tablet that was provided to us was not properly working. It was difficult trying to find the points of interest. The fact that we had to hold it the entire time was also annoying it would have been nice to have it mounted in the UTV. Or a heads up that some of the cattle fences were going to be rather difficult. I'm sure for a group of people or even a family it's less challenging but for a boyfriend and girlfriend it was rather difficult. I just felt like we went out there unprepared (we were sent out unprepared). I wouldn't have minded to even pay extra for eye protection. I came back 10 minutes into the tour for eye protection me and my girlfriend were offered extra small helmets with shields the helmets did not fit us (you knew this) but we told you that we would push through because I knew I wasn't going to get a refund. All in all, this is just my personal opinion, and you have the right to defend your company. I'm not saying you guys are bad people or a bad business. I'm just saying I felt unprepared. I get you can't control the weather, but every other place I've called in Colorado/ South Dakota offers you eye protection or the option to purchase added eye protection. I didn't swear at the kid, not towards him. I did say that it blank sucked because it did suck for us. In New Hampshire I was greeted by the owner before and after the trip. I was offered eye protection. I was offered a picture with the vehicle before and after I wasn't rushed out to the door and on to the next. That's how I felt at this location. I know this is your business I know you guys are passionate you guys seem like great people and I'm sure maybe if the weather was different I would have had a different experience the machine was just Extremely Loud (helmets are used to muffle the sound) maybe it was just my machine. Then you offered me a shell cap helmet with no ear protection nor eye protection. yes, you have a windshield but when you're driving down the highway at 60 mph behind vehicles, rocks are being kicked up into your face or when you're driving behind other people on Stone trails. No hard feelings. I just wish I would have had a better experience me and my girlfriend planned this trip for 4 months we work hard. We don't get a lot of time off of work. I chose your company out of multiple companies we don't get to go out and UTV more than twice a year so yeah it is frustrating. I am sorry I used a swear word to describe my trip, but in the moment, that's how I was feeling. After that I stood there quietly as they inspected the UTV and told me that I was all good. I asked them if there was a bathroom I could wash up in and they told me in the back of the building and then began sitting around talking to each other like I wasn't there and the door on the side said employees only so yeah I was a little irritated after spending $500 on a trip not to be even offered to take a picture with the vehicle.

Everything about our experience with Adventure Rentals was extraordinarily positive. We reserved a RZR 1000XP 2 seater for a couple of days. We were greeted out front and signed in, which takes no time at all. The staff covered all of the operations, rules and safety features of the rental. Also, we were given a run down on trails to hit and sent off on our way. This RZR is a serious, top of the line piece of machinery and can handle it all from cruising to rock crawling to ripping up trails. We were given a GPS tablet that has all of the areas roads and trails. Also, an emergency locator beacon, provides information to rescue personal should you need it. So, don't be afraid of getting lost, in fact it's encouraged, every trail offers something special. Listen to Colby, he is wise beyond his years. We were able to see all the local sights plus and abundance of wildlife. TIP-Pack a lunch, lots to drink, chapstick and bring a car phone charger. I cannot thank the team at Adventure Rental enough. We are already planning a return trip and bringing a group with us next time. If you DO NOT get a multi-day rental, you will regret it and your vacation will be ruined and your kids will hate you.

This is the THE place to rent an ATV in the Black Hills. I believe they have two locations (one is Custer and one is Hill City). Do not pass on this excursion! Although it was pricey, it was well worth it. After a lengthy safety and navigation walkthrough, we were handed a tablet with a map of the area north of Custer including trails for ATVs and other 4x4 vehicles and told to have fun and "get lost". Boy, did we get lost... You can reserve either 4 or 8 hours. 4 seemed like plenty but after the fact, we could have easily enjoyed 8 hours. We ended up almost running out of time before we got off of the trails and headed back on the highway. Without exaggerating, I can say this was one of the most fun things that all of us had ever done. PRO TIP: Bring your own goggles and a bandana to protect your mouth. It was VERY dusty when we went and I would have like to not get so much dust in my face (look at the pictures). Also bring your own water. It was very hot inside the ATV and we all felt dehydrated afterwards. Do yourself a favor and book this excursion! I hope to do this again, even if it is not is South Dakota. Special thanks to the staff for being accommodating and friendly!

3.5 rating due to our ventures being cut short due to fear of getting stranded in the thick of it. We rented the Razr Pro Turbo for a full day. The check in was superb. Staff were friendly, well informed. We loved how the Pro handled and the little extra zip. Unfortunately, one Pro (same one as ours) got stranded after they stopped for some sightseeing. We had to request help for them when we got a signal. After 4 hrs of adventure, the check engine light came on (our pro) but the light turned off after a few minutes. I was a bit unnerved. I kept an eye on the light from there. After another half hr, it came on again. We were planning to go to the gold mines but after that second time of the light coming on and turning off after a few minutes, I asked we head back. Unfortunately, we used the main road to drive back which means we missed a ton of trails n care free fun. We got back 1.5 -2 hours early. We told the kids who asked us how it was, we explained our disappointment with having to come back early due to concern it as going to die. They shook their heads and said they've had trouble with the pros this year. Another family pulled up next to me when we were finishing our check in, they said their check engine light was going off occasionally as well! I made a comment about them saying the same as us, the kids said "I'm sorry". I think if the engine light didn't go off a few times and we were able to explore the whole day as planned it would have been 5 stars but that really...

I would 1000% recommend using Adventure Rentals. I had a trip with about 25 members of my family planned to Hill City. Everyone else owns their own UTVs. 2 days before we were supposed to leave, the rental place I had previously scheduled with CANCELED!! I was panicked. My kids were looking forward to this trip and I did not want to disappoint them. I called the 2 other rental places in Hill City and they couldn’t help me. I called Adventure Rentals as my last hope, only because they are in Custer not Hill City. They didn’t show having anything available, but they bent over backwards and gave me their “backup” vehicle...the one they have in reserve to keep from cancelling on people. He wanted to do what he could to save my vacation. They also suggested I pick it up the night before to avoid the rush and so that my large group wasn’t waiting on me. Great business practices! They saved my vacation!

Rental was in fantastic condition and handled like a dream on trails and on highway! They provide everything you need to have a great ride including helmets, goggles, distress signal and GPS tablet with instruction on how to use it. They also are available if you need any help on the trails. They take care of their vehicles and customers very very well. If I ever get the opportunity to be in the Black Hills area again, I will absolutely rent from...
