I had a 4 day stay booked under a different confirmation number . We called to ask to come in 1 day early making 5 nights total. The person answering the phone (Harry) said he could not add the extra day to the existing reservation, but could make a separate one. I asked if it would be the same rate as the existing reservation and he said YES. However, when I checked in, he charged approximately $40 more for the new night. I went to my room to get my copy of the 4 day reservation so I could ask why and show the lower rate. When I returned to the front desk, Harry was not there, but a man who said he was the manager and that I could ask him my question was there. At first, he said I did not have any other reservation other than the 1 night. Then he finally found it and I asked why the new night was more telling him Harry had told me it would be the same rate. He accused me of lying saying I could not have made a reservation with Harry the prior day because he worked the front desk all that day. Harry walked down the hall at this point, so I started to speak with him about the situation, but the manager yelled at me that he was the manager and Harry had "nothing to do with this--that he was not the owner or manager". At his point, I knew there was no reason to have any further discussion with this rude and obnoxious man, so I left. I went back to my room, cancelled the remaining 4 days and will probably never stay in a Days Inn again. This person identifying as the manager has no ability to deal with the public. He was rude, disrespectful and lost his temper. Harry even tried to help me, but the manager yelled at him, also. Hotel is old and run down. Not filthy, but not very...
Read moreWe couldn’t even get to check in. We made two reservations for two rooms on the Wyndham corporate website for tonight, yet the front desk at this hotel couldn’t find them. We called corporate who could see them, and apparently there was a system error on Wyndham’s computers where there was a problem with sending reservations to the hotels. Corporate called the hotel to tell them, but the front desk guy couldn’t seem to figure out how to just get us some rooms sorted. The main problem is, the manager at this hotel wouldn’t come to the front desk to assist us and insisted we dealt with corporate on the phone. Initially we think he thought we had made our reservations on some third party site instead of their corporate chain site so probably don’t want to deal with what he thought wasn’t their problem. I Also get people have worked long hours, but as a manager of a hotel there are times when you need to help out with customer service outside what you consider your regular hours are instead of staying in your room downstairs, and letting your front desk guy try (and fail) to assist us. In the end, we got rooms at a different hotel chain for the night, and allegedly Wyndham corporate are calling us tomorrow to confirm we will not be charged for our rooms this hotel wouldn’t give us. We’ll also be following up with corporate at how the experience at this Days Inn left a sour taste in our mouth as to customer experience, and how odd to us it is that Curt the manager didn’t think it worthy to come to the front desk to...
Read moreI would give it zero if I could. Where do I start? As we walked down to our room we noticed that the door at the end of the hall was open. This was early evening. They said that they were trying to cool down the building to save on air conditioning and that they would be closing the door around 9 o’clock at night. All it was doing was letting more flies and bugs into the place. Our room was right next to the door which made us feel very unsafe to have a door open to the outside right by our room. We went into the room and noticed that the deadbolt didn’t work. So I went down to find the manager who accompanied me back to the room. But while walking down the hall, he said that this wasn’t California this was small town Custer. I explained that that didn’t make a difference that it was unacceptable to not have a deadbolt that work. He noticed that the deadbolt did not line up with the metal plate and so he went to find another plate and replaced it but it still didn’t work. He then wandered off saying he was going to try to find something else. But by then we were done with that hotel. It was overall rundown and with the safety features not in place we did not feel we would be safe there. We are now disputing the charge with the booking and our credit card companies. But we will never stay there again nor...
