South Dade Regional Library — Attraction in Cutler Bay

Library works good like most public libraries on Dade County. On the good side , it's very spacious ,organized , has on site security , printing is free for like 25 pages , accessible restrooms , kids area is huge, staff is nice. I do however, have two chief complaints about the library. First, the staff can and should do a better job of keeping noisy and disruptive people from disturbing a quiet and pleasant environment for the sake of those who want to be productive and follow common sense library rules , that's part of your job ( people screaming , being loud, loitering , using profanity, etc ) .Second ,the infrastructure is ok for being public , the seats are a little bit dirty and uncomfortable. Overall pretty good library ,but the staff should do a better job of overseeing...

When I moved to cutler bay I was super excited to know that i will have a public library near me, BUT, my reality was different: this location is FULL of HOMELESS PEOPLE, with a STRONG bad smell and visible ill, around 5-10 people i can see every day, THEY CAME IN to sleep, They fall asleep in their chairs and snore loudly, which is soo disrespectful because most of the people that came here is to STUDY, and so we cant have any kind of concentration with a person snoring LOUD in a QUIET PLACE” nobody says NOTHING… They should continue to enter here because it is a public building, but the administration should require these people to bathe and not come to this place to sleep or SNORE. I have been a patron of this library since I was a little girl growing up in Cutler Ridge. Now, I bring my kids here. It's a great library with a vast selection of materials from books to DVDs. There is something for everyone from kids (children's section with computers and play areas) to teens (YOUMedia center) to adults (adult section with computers and materials).
