Some may find my opinion biased, but I've been a loyal customer going back to 1987, when i would go to Babbage's and buy 5 1/4-inch floppy disk ganes for my Apple II e. Many people have mixed feelings about GameStop, but the chain is still tip-top to me. I'm not a huge fan of digital-only titles so brick and mortar stores still appeal to me. I enjoy being able to go buy and/or sell games and use the credit toward new games or systems. My 11 year old son and 10 year old daughter uses the trade in system to its fullest as well.
I have 7 GameStop locations within a 10 mile radius of me, so I can get what I want without ordering most of the time. The online and app ordering work great and I've never waited more than 5 days for any online order. The points provide a value in my opinion and I enjoy my monthly $5 coupon. It would good if you could stack 2 or 3 months, but it's still a value nonetheless. With retro systems gaining in popularity it would be cool if GameStop sold more retro titles and...
Read moreGreat customer service: My fiancé went to a game release in store in order to get the collectible freebies being given out with the pre-ordered game. When he got home he left the poster he had received in a place where our fur children could shred it. He was so upset when he discovered the damaged poster, so I called the store to see if they happened to have an extra one. The manager, Melissa?, was so nice! Her store had given all the posters they had out, but she said another lower traffic location might have extras. She checked with a few locations and called me back the next day stating she was able to find another poster for my fiancé. It probably seems like a small thing but her effort to go the extra mile for such an insignificant issue for a customer really says ALOT! We were able to stop in and pick up the poster later that week, and I am certain my fiancé will be back to...
Read moreI stopped in last week to see if I would be interested in a new game. I had no idea what I was looking for but Skyler took care of me. He was extremely knowledgeable about all the games I mentioned and made me feel welcome unlike other stores. I ended up getting The last of us and will be picking up Ghost of Tsushima next.
I also witnessed him de-escalating a situation with a difficult customer. The guy raised his voice several times and Skyler kept calm to resolve the issue. You don't find many younger kids that can keep their cool in a hostile setting.
I'll be sure to make this my new home...
