My spouse and I visited Shogun on a rare night away from our home full of children. Our previous experience with shogun was at the hibachi tables but we opted for the regular dining instead. Unfortunately our menus clung to the tables and the pages were sticky on both menus. We brushed it off and ordered anyway but we should have paid attention to the foreshadowing. My spouse ordered a steak meal, I ordered the chicken, and we would have liked to share but there was no need to because they both had the exact same flavor; they tasted like water. Even our vegetables had the same watery flavor. We tried to press through it but with everything being indistinguishable in taste and the fact that the food was served room temperature we couldn't stand to eat it, especially when we were paying $20 a plate.
The real offense for us came when I requested a manager and they refused to visit the table but instead had our server hold us hostage for a $6 each because we ate the salad and onion broth that was included in the meal we actually ordered. Shogun should be ashamed of their performance and their management should know that their poor customer service has cost them.
The silver lining comes that I did enjoy a good meal and a night out with my spouse down the road as Alicia's Mexican Restaurant where I wrote...
Read moreFirst of all let me start by saying this was our usual spot that we ate at every month. But today’s experience changed everything and we will not be coming back. We came in and as soon as we sat down we called our waitress and told her that brother is severely allergic to anything sesame. She asked us to make sure to let the cook know too, which we did. He didn’t have the salad, ordered crazy roll and Some hibachi (steak, chicken and shrimp, and asked 50 times to make sure that it has no sesame seeds or oil. She assured us it doesn’t. As soon as he started eating we notice his face swelling and it was bad, my husband rushed him home to get his shot. We told the waitress and she said to wait for the manager. Manager came we explained the situation and she saw my brothers untouched food, she suggested that perhaps his allergies are from food he ate for lunch🤦🏻♀️. I said no but she kept going about how it’s not them and for sure it’s from something else. We couldn’t eat our food because how worried and stressed we were. But nothing was done no apology not even talking about discount. If you have allergies and don’t want to sacrifice your health please go somewhere else where management cares about...
Read moreThe Manager is completely asleep at the wheel in this place. The prices on the menu do not match the prices on their website. 45 minutes after sitting down at the hibachi, they still hadn't started cooking our food yet with an entire table full of 8 guests. The other staff kept blaming the new chef without offering any help to him or us. At first they accused him of taking our order incorrectly and getting us confused with the only other seated table in the restaurant. After 45 minutes, they realized they had forgot to turn the grill on when we arrived so it now needed to heat up. The manager was made aware of the situation as he was sitting alone hiding in a booth in the opposite corner of the restaurant. He just waved off the problem and again blamed the new employee along with the rest of the staff. Once the chef arrived, got the grill heated up and started cooking, we had all finished our beef and rice before the shrimp appetizers were given to us and before the veggies were finally delivered. This place desperately needs a new manager who is not "out to lunch" while the rest of us are...
