Painting with a Twist — Attraction in Dallas

Honestly I had a really bad experience. I came with my boyfriend, sister in law and her boyfriend. They came from out of town and we were wanting to spend a good time TOGETHER. We started off on the wrong foot, when I set the reservation for 7:30pm to 10:00pm and the confirmation email said to arrive 20-25 minutes early. We arrived at 7:25 and were placed in a small room set up for 11 people. We were there for a while the instructor and the other people started to arrive almost at 8. I was very confused as of why we were behind 30 minutes. I asked the instructor on the time and a rude lady vented out “ no it was at 8” which no one asked for her opinion. The instructor said oh yeah it’s for 8. The confirmation email said 7:30 and to arrive EARLY!! When they decide to start my sister in law was being blocked buy the same rude lady, we notified the instructor and just told her to move to the back. We were very upset my that my sister in law had to move to the bank and be separated from the rest of us when we wanted to have a good time together. The instructor then asked her boyfriend to move to the back as well so she would be alone but it wasn’t fair that she was the one that had to move out of her seat when we arrived first. In reference to GLORIA and DANIELA..... the fact that you typed that monstrosity of a review is disappointing so allow me to clarify some things for you. That room was scheduled for a PRIVATE EVENT that was paid for by a member of OUR PARTY. I'm not sure how you ended up even being in the room and yet, there you were. Perhaps you all were supposed to be in the other room. Since it was a PRIVATE EVENT the scheduler set up the time of the event for 8 pm. We were to arrive between 7:30 and 8. That is what i stated to the room when you questioned Eva. 3.Additionally, since it was a PRIVATE EVENT you and your group did not have first choice of seating. Tsk...tsk. Furthermore, being that the room was indeed small (one of the only points that were actually accurate) you are acting like your sister in law was 50 feet away from you. Girl, she was barely 2 steps! I visited this location with my daughter two years ago and had a fun evening. We enjoyed painting and learned a lot. My daughter, husband, and I returned last weekend and were disappointed in our experience. We were looking forward to a fun, relaxing family evening, but it turned out to be a totally different experience. The instructor spent more time making off-color, inappropriate comments and dancing to the loud rap music. She stated that she was Swedish and she did not have the same boundaries as Americans. We received far less art instruction than we did two years ago, and the assistant was nowhere to be seen during most of the evening. Two years ago the assistant moved throughout the room and offered painting suggestions. I would have preferred that the instructor had focused on art than spending most of her time presenting an R-rated standup comedy routine.
