This is puzzling to me. I have sat for two days trying to figure out how I feel about this place and nothing is resonating. I even reviewed all of the other reviews and nothing comes to me. So here it goes: First of all, where is the market? Never saw it, it was never was mentioned. Secondly, I see something about popcorn in other people's reviews. Never got any, but my neighbors at the next table did. I spend $3.75 for tea I had to gag down because it was flavored. No one told me it was flavored and it was not tasty. I asked about Happy Hour and the waiter discouraged me more than encouraged me so I saved my dining dollars on that. The menu is just gibberish. If I have to read the description three times, I am not ordering it. Searched high and low for some simple broiled fish and veggies; not to be found. I had that waiter everyone complains about; he is loud and gruff and he had a weird way of sneaking up on me when I did not want him and disappearing when I did. He talked ad nauseum about the specials, losing me right after 'dredged', but he finished his spiel anyway. I think he is just tired of waiting tables. He seemed to be going through the motions, as was everyone there. The bartender made faces when the couple next to me took too long to order and he hostess was too busy doing other things to care about the customers. I hate seeing kids in a restaurant because of circumstance. They do not want to be there and it looks bad in front of customers. I was one of those kids, but they made me work. When I asked about my favorite oyster dish, the waiter did offer to have it made, but I really did not want to risk having someone look up a recipe online and try to make it. My food was good, but overpriced for the offering. For a $20 lunch, I expect to at least have a snack to take away. Nothing served with it either; could have used something to alter the palate like cole slaw or a salad. We will not even talk about the hot sauce request; thought I might have to walk to 7-11 to get some. Maybe I am used to Florida seafood restaurants where they try to make your event special, but this just seemed forced. Anyway, the place is very clean, well appointed and decorated nicely. It must be beautiful at night. But they need to close it down and take a vacation because everyone looks worn out and pissed off. Working with the public is exhausting, but the restaurant business can also be fun if you don't take everything so seriously. Dallas desperately needs a really good seafood place and this could be it. Just keep it simple and do not be greedy. I traveled a good ways to check it out, but I am uncertain if I will return. The best part of the entire experience was the little book they put the check in. Fun and informative. A nice change from the boring...

We recently dined at Lover's Seafood and Market and had a mixed experience overall. While the appetizer, Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Stuffed Jalapenos, was absolutely delicious, the entree, Blackened Texas Redfish with Jambalaya Rice and Cajun Cream Gravy, unfortunately lacked seasoning.
Let’s start with the positive aspect of the meal—the appetizer. The Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Stuffed Jalapenos were a delightful treat. The combination of smoky bacon, succulent shrimp, and the heat from the jalapenos created a mouthwatering explosion of flavors. It was definitely a highlight of the meal.
However, the same cannot be said for the entrees. The Blackened Texas Redfish with Jambalaya Rice and Cajun Cream Gravy fell short in terms of seasoning. The flavors were underwhelming and lacked the boldness and spice one would expect from Cajun cuisine. Secondly, we edited the Pan Seared Halibut to Blackened Halibut in hopes of a spicy alternative. However, the level of heat and complexity fell short. The Halibut was cooked to perfection with a light flaky consistency. The highlight of this meal was the Quinoa Risotto with Spicy Calabrese Sauce. Although the Calabrese sauce was mild the quinoa had a rich creamy texture that was absolutely delightful.
Although there were some highs and lows to the main course, overall the expectations set by the appetizer were not fulfilled.
On a positive note, the service at Lover's Seafood and Market was terrific. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making the dining experience pleasant. They were prompt in taking orders, refilling drinks, and providing recommendations when needed. The exceptional service definitely added value to the overall experience.
The atmosphere at Lover’s Seafood and Market was great. The restaurant had a charming and inviting ambiance. The decor was tastefully done, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for diners. Whether you're looking for a casual meal or a special occasion, the restaurant's ambiance contributes to a pleasant dining experience.
Lover’s Seafood and Market offered a mixed experience. While the appetizer, Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Stuffed Jalapenos, was a standout dish, the entree, Blackened Texas Redfish, lacked the desired seasoning. On the bright side, the service was terrific, and the atmosphere added to the overall enjoyment...
Read moreThe finest seafood restaurant and market by far in the Dallas Metroplex and frankly better than many East Coast establishments. I am so beyond impressed with Tracy and Lynae and the formidable partnership they have formed over the last many years. Not only do they bring class, but incredible knowledge, experience, glamour, first hand world experiences and partnerships that are beyond fabulous.
I have admired these women for their incredible partnership since they opened Shinsei.
I must admit I am a new foodie here as I had been traveling the world and even with Covid it was hard to stay home so I spent most of my time in Vail so now I have been a frequent casual customer who is hooked forever and have had the pleasure of dining her maybe 10 times since I found it. Easter was my most favorite Easter of my life spending time with them and their thoughtfulness with flowers and now Mother's Day I am not a Mom but I was so impressed to see Tracy working and she was so charming and understated.
I love them and their enitre team of course they have an incredible chef who only buys the freshest ingredients and I love him too.
Thank you for making Dallas look so great because of who you are and what you have done for our area!!!!
Happy Mother's Day to Tracy and Lynae and your beautiful families both at work and at home.
