I've never dined at this location until this day and I won't be back to dine here very again. The service in Addison is amazing but this location is horrible. I'm a Mexican American woman and there's Latin workers there from the managers to cooks and servers. We were discriminated against the moment we walked in. The hostess didn't greet us I had to greet her and ask how long was a wait for 4 people and she told me 30-35 mins. Luckily the manager walked up and said he can seat us within the next 10 mins we agreed to wait. During the wait 4 different different big parties walked in and they were Caucasian and were seated immediately. My husband asked the manager how we waited over 10 minutes and everyone else is being seated and he said okay we have a table coming up. We were seated a little bit later. We sat at the table for about 10 mins before we were given salsa and chips and had to wait another 10 minutes before being asked what we'd like to drink. The waitresses attitude was not warm and welcoming, no smiles or any good energy from her. She didn't attend to us throughout the visit as a matter of fact a waiter and another waitress started helping us out because they seen no one was attending us. Our waitress didn't even clear our table for our entrees either we had about 10 salsas at the table along with stale chips we had to ask another waitress and waiter to clear off all the salsas. I seen my waitress attending to other tables with a positive attitude and let me remind you that we were the only Mexican Americans in this place. It was saddening and disappointing. I spent over $100 on dinner with my 2 children and husband. Unfortunately I will not be taking my family to any Meseros again. And what's more sad is that my 10 year old felt the horrible way we were being treated that he felt as if he couldn't eat at a nice place because he thinks he'll be treated this way by all places like this. I had to explain to him that if he's ever treated like this that he should NEVER give any place his hard earned money and that they don't deserve his time or money. And unfortunately we'll have to find a better place with a great salmon dish. My mother has also had a bad experience here with curbside service. She isn't eating or ordering from this...
Read moreI’m not one to regularly brandish the race card, but after my mom shared her negative experience with me about a server at this location, I felt incensed and decided to write a review on her behalf. I’m quite disappointed about it because I love Mesero’s food!
But if you’re an Asian woman, watch out because you’ll experience a pitiful level of hospitality that would be immediate grounds for termination at any Chick-fil-A.
About a month ago, my mom dined in with two friends, both of whom were non-Asians. The server treated the friends with a normal level of respect, but when my mom placed her order, his demeanor changed from friendly to hostile— even my mom’s friends noticed the difference in treatment. When she’d ask for more water, he would hardly acknowledge her and begrudgingly complete the task as if it was completely out of the scope of his role.
My mother and one friend ordered salad with chicken. When the food came out, the friend objectively had more chicken in her salad. When my mom flagged the waiter and kindly pointed out the difference in quantity, asking for a little more chicken, he looked upset and reluctantly complied with this simple task. The chicken was already an extra cost, but when the bill came, the waiter charged my mom an additional upcharge for the extra extra chicken.
As someone who has worked in the service industry, I understand how miserable it can be to deal with the whims and demands of obnoxious patrons. My mom is a low-maintenance diner and always treats waitstaff with kindness and respect. She was made to feel less than by this particular Mesero server and I have reason to believe it was due to her Korean ethnicity. I would expect better service from a restaurant of...
Read moreI was very excited to try this place with a friend. Instagram, Yelp and Google had great reviews. The ambiance was beautiful, it truly was a cute restaurant. However, that is where the good started and abruptly stopped. The "guacamole" was literally, unseasoned mashed avocado with a slice of tomato and onion on the side (so I guess we had purée). We doctored it up best we could trying to cut and mix the onion and tomato into it, we also added seasoning and lime which helped. We ordered the Florece, as it was the featured cocktail and it was horribly bitter and lacking of something. I am almost certain they forgot ingredients or something because it should not have been that offensively repugnant. Thankfully we sent it back and both tried different cocktails. My friend enjoyed her alternative drink (blueberry pineapple) and I felt my La Perfección was subpar but sufficient (definitely not worth 20$ AT ALL). My friend stated her fajitas were good at least. All I can say is we will not be back, and will not recommend this place. If you want to go somewhere to spend a lot of money, LOOK at pretty drinks and take pictures of them, this is the place to go. However if you actually want quality tasting cocktails and food I would recommend you go to elsewhere. I wanted to like this place so bad and I was very deceived by all these reviews (to the point of me questioning if these people have taste buds). It felt only right to leave a very transparent and honest review. I will add our server was very nice at least (nothing...
