Texas Lottery Claim Center — Attraction in Dallas

I had won $1000 on a $50 ticket. I went to claim it at the lottery claim center and I was greeted right when I walked in. The man helping me was very polite and explained what I needed to fill out and asked for my driver's license. It took maybe 20 minutes for both of us to do what was needed before he gave me a check for $1000. That amount was not high enough for them to take the taxes out of the winnings. Side note: Do NOT write on any part of the front or back of the ticket or mark it. It can disqualify the ticket and might result in the winnings being paid. My visit started out not so good because a young lady that was office staff was rude when I went in, she didn’t say hello or anything while sitting at her desk she just told us we needed to go back outside because they were at COVID capacity in the office and I asked even if I have an appointment she said yes and turned back to what she was doing. There was a tall handsome Anglo young man who I informed of her behavior who apologized and made my experience so much more positive by making the rest of process smooth and easy. I was in and out. Appointments only, very long wait for an appointment. They are holding onto people's money for a longer time for no reason. Likely making more money for themselves in interest over this waiting period. They sure didn't stop selling tickets, they have only delayed the cashing of tickets for a substantial time period. If any other company delayed people's access to money like this, the .gov would be all over them.
