Absolutely NOT what we expected. If you don't want to read my whole review (because it will be very detailed), just don't even bother with this hotel. The pictures are false - as in from another well-kept location. We thought this hotel was good for the discounted $70 something rate; but, peace of mind is PRICELESS. If you are drunk or under any other influence, then you probably won't even notice anything wrong. But, if you're like me and perfectly sober, you will indeed notice everything. To illustrate... The parking lot - The "guard" walked out to the parking lot as soon as we pulled in the parking space. I have major arthritis so I have a perfectly legit handicap mirror tag. This guy walks over to the front of my car I guess to verify if I was legally (or illegally parked). When he saw that I was legally parked in the handicap space, he gave us this weird stare as though to say 'damn I can't give them a ticket or call the police' and walked off. RUDE! Checking in - (a) The "guard" was posted at the desk when we walked in as if we were going to steal all the pens up there. He walked off soon after because I gave him a rude look back for how he looked at us in the parking lot. (b) The man behind the desk was pushy and rushing as if there were 20 people behind us. (c) He made paper copies of both of our licenses AND credit card (again) like we were going to steal the used sofas or pillows from the room. I mean this isn't the Ritz. I was terrified because I didn't want them keeping the copy and showing up at my house or doing something to us later. (d) He said our room number out loud. This is of course against hotel policy and a matter or my safety. I don't want anyone knowing what room I'm unless I tell them. So, I politely asked him to re-assign a room. Of course he got all huffy and tried to give me some excuse; but, I gave him the "I'll wait" look and he reluctantly went ahead and gave us another room this time just writing the number on the room key sleeve (as he should have in the first place). (e) There was a sign that clearly said the pool was out of service. That's one of the top three items in our hotel decision making process and it was NOT listed anywhere the pool was out of service. That would've made our night easier had we known because we would've gone somewhere else. Who doesn't want a pool on Memorial Day weekend??? The room - (a) It appeared to be ok from first look. However, I notice we're on the side of the freeway so cars going 75 on the highway can become quite a nuisance when you're trying to rest at night. (b) In the morning there was DRILLING. Again, that's a disturbance if you already didn't sleep well the night before and trying it again in the morning. This leads me to my next point. Hotel appearance - (a) I'm tall, so I naturally look up at things like ceilings. The ceilings in this hotel were in shambles. I mean, literally falling down so I guess the drilling was going on to fix whatever was going on up there. (b) The lighting was barely there so it felt like I was walking through a dungeon. (c) I got a peep of an open room I'm guessing they've decided to use as a utility room and the floors in there were all torn apart. I think the buyers of this building made a premature decision to open doors to guests. I didn't feel safe. I wanted to take pictures on the way out; but, I couldn't stand to be in there another second. *Side note - Our reservation was initially for 4 nights but there was ABSOLUTELY NO WAY I was going to put myself through that for 3 more nights so we checked out as soon as we got up the next morning. Thank God the guy didn't give me any hell for checking out early because I was ready to state my position (everything listed above). I wanted to ask for the copies the man made last night (because I was still thinking about them doing something to us) but I didn't bother with it as I was THAT ready to get out of there. THE NEXT HOTEL DIDN'T COPY OUR LICENSES OR SAY THE ROOM # OUT LOUD. Be mindful to research who bought the hotel if it's not a...
Read moreOk where do I start? I stayed 2 nights at the Love Field Wingate over this past weekend.
I actually struggled with writing this review since my mother always said "if you can't say anything nice, then be silent". Well. This place need to be put on blast for a few things. But will outline a couple of good things they did first.
GOOD POINTS- Their shuttle service started at 7am instead of 24hrs. This was remedied as they contracted out Lyft for us(we needed to leave at 4am) which was awesome. To and from the airport with no problems. The rooms were also clean.
NEED IMPROVEMENT OR BAD- First and foremost what made me write this review was overall based on the treatment of the front desk clerk Indian guy. The young lady late evening was joyful, very helpful and made extra efforts. However, the older gentleman? He talked down, made me feel some kind of way, argued, pushed back, showed no empathy or effort to make my stay pleasurable or enjoyable starting with our check-in and throughout the stay. I have never encountered a CUSTOMER SERVICE experience such as his "OH SO ZERO CHEERY DISPOSITION!"
The details & specifics are too many to list but if management want to reply to this review, then I will gladly outline them of his specific behavior.
Next? The most horrible jacuzzi experience. Bubble jets were only in ONE area of the "not that hot-hot tub". Loose tile pieces were gathered on the BOTTOM of it which made for an unsafe barefoot experience. Cleanliness was nill as you can see the dirt gathering at the top in the area where the bubble jets were not. But the SURROUNDING jacuzzi area? OMG!. As you look around, you can SEE hair balls & littered trash but mostly? BROKEN TILE all around it and the main pool! Now, this whole dirty, unkempt and zero maintenance area was NOT something I signed up for. I would have stayed at a hotel WITHOUT a jacuzzi. I stayed there because it had an indoor pool & jacuzzi. Most other hotels only had outdoor. I went to the desk and informed them of this atrocity and asked WHEN the maint peeps would make their rounds. The young lady said she will email them to come Sun morn at 8am since I was staying another nite. However, the next day when I checked around noon? The Indian guy said DISMISSABLY, that the pool company DOES NOT COME ON SUNDAYS. Also comes only once per week and ONLY to put in chlorine. Now I'm thinking how gross THAT SOUNDS. If they don't DRAIN, SWEEP and do other stuff? Well. It made me shutter at the lurking filth. True. Maybe they DO MORE, but that jacuzzi area was NOT a result of only ONE WEEK of avoidance!(see pics that I will post directly to their site).
Overall? DON'T STAY HERE. Because even if the facilities are fixed, the customer service experience along with the "GO COVID" breakfast items(dried up, unappealing oranges and same type of wrapped muffin, etc), no tv channel guide is not going to be digestible! Never stay here again. ...
Read moreTLDR: Toilet kept running, non-functional and the staff was rude, dishonest and didn't compensate us for the issue... The room was so loud! The windows are not sealed correctly so you can hear every person walking or talking outside the hotel, even from the second floor- it sounds like the window is wide open! I tried layering pillows and blankets to deaden the noise but it didn't help at all. Other hotel patrons wandered the hallways cussing and talking loudly late into the night. The cherry on top is the toilet wouldn't stop running- extremely loudly every 30-45 seconds- making sleeping, again, impossible. When I reported this to the front desk (we returned at 9pm to find this), they wanted to send maintenance in an hour or two. I said that is too late since we have young children and that we would like another room so we would have access to a working toilet and not have the kids have to stay up late before a day of travel. The front desk (in a very rude and condescending tone) said they didn't have any, but when I looked online they had numerous open rooms to book. When I asked about those the front desk stated those rooms were broken and uninhabitable anyway. (Why were they even online??) Then an hour or two later around 11pm+, the front desk called and said they now had a room we could move to, but my kids were already asleep! I was frustrated they didn't offer that the I called the first time and specifically told them I had young children that I didn't want disturbed late at night. I was nice the entire encounter, but unfortunately that was not how I was treated in return- they acted somehow mad at us that their toilet didn't work!? The next morning I was told the manager would be present at check out and could arrange a partial refund for the inconvenience. Of course, not surprisingly, come the morning of checkout the new front desk clerk said the manager wasn't present on weekends and they wouldn't give me any money back or compensation of any kind. Not only that but I have never been treated so rudely in my life. He didn't apologize for the inconvenience or try to rectify the situation in any way. He said it was my fault for not reporting the toilet earlier in the day (I let them know as soon as I returned to the room!) and that since I didn't want to move rooms at nearly midnight with small children that I didn't deserve any compensation for those reasons. I've never had customer service people immediately start angry and defensive, even when I was being calm and kind. Deplorable customer service, loud, non-functional toilets... If you hate sleep, running toilets and kind staff- this is the...
