I attended the Dallas Arboretum’s “¡Mundo México!” pumpkin village this year and left very disappointed. The website promised “an extraordinary celebration of Mexican culture” with “seven iconic regions of Mexico reimagined through breathtaking gourd artistry.” Unfortunately, the event did not live up to this description at all.
What was advertised as a cultural, heritage-based display ended up looking more like a generic pumpkin patch with minimal effort to represent the Mexican theme. The cultural element that was heavily promoted online was not truly present, and as a paying guest, I felt misled and honestly disrespected.
