So I have been craving for a Coconut Cream pie and have yet to find one in my area for some that is satisfying my craving. Went to a few places around my area and was very disappointed.
So while we were in downtown Dallas for lunch, we decided to look up pie shops, went to one in Deep Ellum and was disappointed because they didnât even have Coconut cream pie.
So we called Humble: Simply Good Pies and asked if they had the Coconut cream Pie and the man on the phone said yes so on we went.
Arrived, walked in and it was definitely a pie shop. You can smell the pies cooking. The man who created us was super friendly and nice. He explained his process of pie making which is pretty cool. And yes, they had the coconut cream pie. We ordered a slice of the coconut cream pie as well as the coconut joy. OMG, my craving was satisfied. One of the best coconut cream pie Iâve had. It tasted like a home cooked pie. It wasnât to sweet and the crust was delicious. The cream was so fluffy. The coconut joy was good too. the chocolate mousse wasnât too sweet. But I like the original coconut cream better.
Overall it was great and would definitely be back. I found my pie shop. There were other flavors that I would like to try for next time. The pie was $6 a pie and well worth it. It is such a cute little quaint place. Such a cute place for a...
Read moreI usually love this place. Great pies! Usually great service but I went at 9:35pm on a Friday night because the website said they close at 10pm. Pulled up and about to get out of car and they turned the light off. So I went inside they seemed annoyed I was there. Ordered my 2 slices and got to the car to see there was not any utensils to eat with. Went back up to the door and they didnât even look up when I knocked just yelled, We are closed! I mean I guess you can close whenever you want but change the website and door sign. Again the pies are great but this turned me off and I have spent some money here, told many friends and even shared them on social media! Donât know I will come back just really perturbed about the service. Update: The owner reached out to me and said she would make this right and she did. I really appreciate that! I will be going back this weekend. I will gladly support when the owner cares enough to speak to her team and...
Read moreSEE THE UPDATE AT END: I was excited to hear they have gluten free pies. Disappointed to learn it is only blueberry. Tried it, the gf crust was wonderful, the filling seemed to be missing something I couldn't quite put my finger on. Flavor was sweet but flat. My husband got a regular crust chess pie (butter milk) he said the same, seemed flat, something missing in flavor. UPDATED REVIEW: We went back a few nights ago. I was pleased and excited to see there were several gluten free options available. I had a slice of the GF Chocolate Cream Pie, it was great, not too sweet like most are! DH had the Chess pie again, he enjoyed but still said something missing. Maybe a more buttery taste ? But he wasn't complaining. My mother went with us and she tried the lemon icebox pie, she really enjoyed it. They have much improved since our...
