UC Davis is the definition of fake prestige. The ARC Pavilion and gym? Overrated junk. Always overcrowded, equipment barely works, and the whole place feels like a loud, sweaty mess. It’s less of a fitness center, more of a stress trap. All flash, zero substance — just like the rest of this campus.
The real problem? UC Davis doesn’t care about students. A student literally got killed by a garbage truck in an area where people had already complained about safety. Admin ignored it until someone died — and even then, it was all damage control, no real accountability.
Mental health? A total joke. Between 2008-2018, UC Davis had the highest student suicide rate in the UC system. Nothing changed. Still the same useless, fragmented resources. If you’re different — smart, driven, or don’t fit their little social boxes — you get labeled as a problem. I saw it firsthand: they nearly suspended a student because he took his academics too seriously while they dumped millions to bury their 2011 pepper spray scandal like it never happened. It’s all cover-up and PR, no actual care.
Even basic stuff like graduation is a mess. 2022 commencement? Disaster. People fainting, hospitalized, because admin couldn’t bother to prepare for heat. Classic UC Davis: zero planning, zero responsibility.
This school talks “world-class” nonstop but delivers constant disappointment. All image, no heart. If you care about your future, your mental health, or basic respect, UC Davis will crush your...
Read moreI have heard a student hit by a garbage truck nearby on campus and she was dead unfortunately. Multiple complaints made in the past on how unsafe the garbage truck at the intersection. I am so sorry that UC Davis fail to take notice on the students’ safety concerns. Also, the ARC Pavilion is a total mess. It’s always overcrowded, the equipment is worn out, and the place is loud and chaotic. You’d think a big-name university would have something better, but it’s just another example of UC Davis cutting corners. It’s all hype and no real quality — just like the rest of this place. I do think, with this poor management, more students will be dead unfortunately. UC Davis academically is Not a top school like Berkeley...
Read moreFairly easy to navigate. I was a bit disappointed that there was only one bathroom location on either side of the pavilion, one being Male and one being Female. The TVs were nice to be able to see the graduates walk across the stage. The bleachers were hard and uncomfortable so after driving a while to get there, I really wanted to get up and walk rather than sit on those. I reccomend bleacher seats if they...
