The Old Teahouse — Restaurant in Davis

I have been coming here more than a year due to its location and the quality has never improved. The flavors I usually get end up being bland, especially for my go-to at any store, Thai tea. Today it was a far darker orange than usual. I have experience in food service making this particular drink, and I knew at first glance it would taste off. Again it was watery, bland, and this time also over-steeped (making it bitter). Considering how they don't let you adjust the sugar level of this drink, this was the final straw and I have given up on this place. The lackluster quality of many milk teas I have tried here have made me wonder if the employees have tasted the tea they make. Old Teahouse is the OG hip boba place where Asians get their milk tea, popcorn chicken, and watch Kpop/Cpop music videos. Davis now still has several boba options, but OT still has its charm and decent boba and food options that make me come back once every few months.

Milk tea boba is their thing here, I think the best drink is probably the thai tea. Their boba is clear/white, but texture is usually on point. They have a wide array of Chinese/Taiwanese/Hong Kong dishes "fast-food style": the popcorn chicken is solid, and the fried rice is oily but solid. Old Teahouse - Their affordable prices and delicious food made me come to this place over and over again. You must try their popcorn chicken and milk green tea; so good! Absolutely adore their eggplant tofu curry that comes with rice.

This place is normally crowded, so don't be surprised if you find yourself standing in a long line that extends outside the restaurant. The service is super fast, so the line moves pretty quickly. They accept only cash; after you place your order, they give you the receipt which has the order #. When your order # gets called, you need to pick up your food.
