Mendocino Farms — Restaurant in Davis

RE: Order #38079110381404160 We placed an order to go for 2 sandwiches at 1:15pm on a Saturday 9/13. Order was supposed to be ready by 1:45pm. I stood at the pickup counter amongst several others for over an hour waiting to get my online order for 2 sandwiches. They apparently received a very large catering order and was prioritizing that over the several other orders that came in. I felt sorry for the employees as they were clearly overwhelmed and misdirected by their manager. I stood extremely patiently allowing them to try and catch up without being another upset customer. I was never approached to ask about my order even though I was standing right in front of them and had to ask 2 different employees on the status of my order, twice. The last time, right around 1 hour of waiting, I watched the girl managing the orders go grab my ticket from the to go area (that was just sitting there) and give it to the kitchen. Within 5 minutes, it was done. It is extremely frustrating to order online with the expectation that I can pickup my order and leave to continue doing other plans but instead spent two hours mid Saturday waiting on 2 sandwiches. If it wasn’t for the sandwiches being $15 each, I would’ve just left and ordered somewhere else. Was excited for a new location in Davis but do not plan on returning unfortunately.

We came to eat dinner at Mendocino Farms as part of a fundraiser for the Peregrine School. Overall, we had a pleasant dining experience in this brand new restaurant. All three members of my family enjoyed their meals: a Happy Hippie sandwich, a grilled cheese sandwich, and the Avocado and Quinoa Superfood Ensalada. My husband, who had the salad proclaimed it to be one of the best salads he had eaten in a long time. With a perfect combination of veggies, crunchy quinoa, and protein-rich Impossible chorizo all coated in a flavorful dressing, this menu item is a winner and we will definitely be coming back for more.

The one bit of constructive feedback I have for the owners is to review their packaging practices. I felt it was a bit excessive, but this is an easily fixable problem.

Overall, I am grateful that my family has a good restaurant option for healthy vegan and vegetarian meals in Davis. Thank you for bringing Mendocino Farms...

A new restaurant in North Davis where the UMall used to be.

A nice spacious restaurant with nice vibes, spacious and very clean. You can also eat outside as well, and it's well shaded even in the Davis heat. The AC runs well inside and there are plenty of tables.

The food was fantastic and the service was good. They are known for their salads and the seasonal peach goat cheese salad was a hit. I had a chicken salad that was okay. Their drinks/lemonades were on the strong/sweet side- so just add extra ice. Kid's menu was pretty good too. Also give the Prosciutto sandwich a try!

The service was great- when an order took too long, they gave out free sides. Very nice gesture- and really- they didn't take that long with our orders- as it was pretty packed inside!
