Greg in particular always goes above and beyond; you can tell he’s stoked to help people understand the gear and what works best for them. He’s not just selling boards—he’s teaching, encouraging, and making sure you walk out more surf-smart than you came in.

If you’re looking for a board that actually performs in Florida’s ever-changing conditions, don’t waste time elsewhere—go with Bernie’s boards (aka Mad Dog). Absolutely fantastic! Me and my friend went in to rent surfboards while on vacation (we have never surfed before), and we went in and we were able to rent a board for each of us for a week at a VERY reasonable cost. What I liked most about this place was the customer service. The owner of the shop not only gave us pointers on how to surf (knowing we didn’t know anything about surfing), but he drove us to the beach in HIS own truck with our surfboards in the back so we didn’t have to carry them (we had walked to the shop from our hotel). I was very ,very, happy with my experience at Mad Dog Surf Shop the person behind the counter was very nice professional and helpful I found what I needed and I thought I was going to be paying a lot for what I was picking and they gave me a really good discount and I paid a lot less and I thought I was going to have to pay for what I was getting so I was very very happy and very pleased and I will come back to this place again and again I will make this my mandatory stop every time I come to Ponce Inlet you have to stop here if you're even halfway serious about surf...
