I didn’t want to leave and look forward to coming back. The first room I got was nice, but I had personal concerns traveling as a solo female. I was moved the next day. Staff was friendly and helpful and never sassy or rude. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Being able to just hear and see the ocean from your room /balcony was a pinnacle of my trip. The rooms had good air conditioner, fridge, microwave, and a coffee maker. There is also free decaf and regular coffee in the lobby. Any time I went in there later or early. The rooms smelled nice and I did NOT have any mold or bug symptoms which I am sensitive to. I was without hot water one day but it was back the next so didn’t say anything. Card keys seem to wear out quickly is all. This is not a new shiny hotel. It’s good though. You’re paying for that instead of extras like breakfast. It was worth the money for me. It was a nice time to disconnect and relax. Casual environment. I was impressed by its sturdiness compared to surrounding buildings after hurricane last fall. The noise wasn’t too bad bc it stopped by bedtime usually. My stay was during bike week and the bikes are loud. I didn’t know it was bike week until I got there. My bad. Otherwise, if people were on the pool deck talking loudly, you could hear them even from the 5th floor. Sometimes a whiff of smoke only externally. And I could hear my neighbors opening and closing their balcony door. I think they had kids, so it was more frequent, but it wasn’t too bad. I slept well at night. Minor issues. I didn’t have any issues with parking and the elevator worked great. There is parking by the road, a lower deck, and another across the street for overflow. There is a guest laundry with two washers and two dryers and each cost $1.50 in quarters to use. They have timers. You can get a box of tide at the front desk for .75 cents if you didn’t buy any laundry detergent from the store. There is a Walmart, publix, abc liquor, cvs, etc near by. It’s close to an inland bridge and quick access to the main highways to go anywhere during stay. I did a Walmart pickup when I got there and stocked up the room. This was the only place around that has beach access right now so it makes it more secluded than usual which was nice for me. The water is beautiful. You can hose your feet off when entering the pool deck. I felt safe walking on the beach at night which was another highlight of my trip. There’s a free car vacuum cleaner also on the pool deck and an ice machine. I wish I was back there now!

I booked this hotel thru Expedia and it was rated 4.3 stars and paid $160 for the night so I was expecting quality which was NOT. Whenever I read reviews I keep in mind that they are based on personal perspective and experience. The hotel is in a good location, and right on the beach. However the interior was lacking. The carpet in the hallway was stained brown and the walls were dirty. Once inside I found the following.... the lock on the sliding glass door to the balcony was broken and the only security we had was the bar on the sliding glass door. While had we been in upper rooms this wouldn't have been a concern but we were on the bottom with easy access to anyone. There were small holes in one wall (easily fixed with some spackle and a lil paint), holes in some of the drop down ceiling panels, rust on the closet shelving, door frame was dirty, just to name a few, all these issues are minor repairs that could easily be maintained had a lil money been invested back into you're money making opportunity. I can deal with things being outdated, I cannot deal with a lack of proper care. We were there just a few hours and decided to check out, when the same desk clerk that checked us in checked us out and instead of receiving an "I'm sorry is everything ok?" As to why we were checking out so soon all I saw was a look of disapproval and not a single word came out of her mouth! I'm not doing this in hopes of receiving nor have I asked for return of my monies but just keeping it real!

We just came home after spending a week here. This was our 3rd stay at this hotel in 3 years and we will be coming back again in the future. This hotel is right on A1A and is beach and ocean front. There's access to the beach from the pool deck, which features a large pool, spacious hot tub, many loungers, and deck chairs with tables and has room for relaxing and visiting for quite a few guests. While it is located in Port Orange, it's literally just a short distance from all the action of Daytona Beach, and does have the vehicles drive by on the beach. Yet the site is quiet and peaceful which is perfect for us. The location is perfect to access many of the activities, including local race events. The hotel and grounds are kept up very nicely and it's always clean. They are always updating or improving something to make the hotel better. Our room had a king size bed which was very comfortable, small refrigerator, small microwave, table with 2 chairs and a comfortable couch. We were on the 5th floor with a fantastic view of the ocean and slept with the patio door open every night to hear the ocean. The cleaning staff was so friendly and did a great job keeping the room clean. The personal at the front desk were very friendly and helpful every time we encountered them. They are priced competitively for their size, brand name, and location. Great place!

I stayed at this hotel a few years ago hoping that the reviews had gotten better I go back and look at some of the things that people have said in my experience was a lot of the things that people had complained about, I booked a room with ocean front balcony get to the room and I get a square window to look out at the parking lot I go back to show the receptionist that we are not in the room that we had originally booked. She then got an attitude with me And it went downhill from there when we got into our room it smelled of mold and mildew so I went back to ask if I could have some Pine-Sol so I could clean the room and try to get rid of the smell I was accused of bullying for asking for Pine-Sol. We were threatened to be kicked out of the hotel. You're not allowed to complain about anything or you are subject to be kicked out of the hotel in fear of nowhere to go. when we picked our luggage up off the floor to get some items out of it everything was wet we had been walking around and flip flops because the carpet was so nasty we did not want to walk around barefooted not noticing the floor had been wet. Kind of find out that AC unit in our room have been leaking water out of a closet. Along the side of the bed there was a bipod door with the unit behind it I told the cleaning lady that a room smelled like mold and mildew and she said it was because that room stays closed up and it's only the front side of the hotel so it doesn't have balcony doors to be able to air out the room her recommendation was we should leave our doors open world that don't fix the wet carpet probably and a safety issue of having to leave our doors open. I've never in my life had to stay in a hotel where it was required to leave the hotel door room open to keep him smelling like moldy mildew. The reason for me coming back several years later to make this complaint is because I wanted to read the reviews to see if anything had gotten better obviously not or management and too many "Karen's " when I went down to the receptionist to show her what we had originally booked and it could show a balcony kitchen Ocean view that was when she got the snooty attitude and started threatening us saying She was going to have us kicked out and accusing me of bullying so don't ask for cleaning supplies. I'm 4'9 and at the time weighing around 100 lbs what the hell am I going to do tie her shoe strings together?. We just wanted the room that didn't smell of mold and mildew the carpet was not wet and we wanted the view that we had originally paid for and she would not even attempt to make it right knowing they were...

Arrived to a room with mold, a bathroom counter full of other people’s hair (not the ones from your head) & in need of some TLC. This is an aged hotel. Tried to remedy this with night person, Sherri, to no avail. I’m all about resolution to make sure the customer has the best experience possible, but when you’re unwilling to make any attempt at that I have to walk away. The willingness of staff to remedy this situation changed dramatically when they seen my girlfriend was black. Definitely would not recommend this hotel at this time. This is where you know actual owner/managers, who care about their customers & those just looking to milk every penny they can from customers. This was the response I got from “The Owner”, not a call or response to the email I sent him, just this.

I appreciate you staying with us and your comments. I did not find any mold in the room but I apologize that housekeeping did not clean it properly. We run full almost every night so I am not sure if the clerk could have moved your room but will investigate that also. I want every guest to have a great experience and I am sorry we did not accomplish that for you. I hope that you will give us another opportunity to earn your trust and business again. Thank you - Roger Mahood - Manager

Despite the fact that I emailed him pictures showing the issues, he wants to defend this. No response to the email, no acceptance of the story the pictures tell, & no attempt to say “We are sorry for the poor conditions of the room, let us make it up to you”. Thankfully after speaking with google they are just weeks away from making it possible for reviews to contain pictures, & as soon as that becomes possible the pics I took will be posted here so people can see the truth. Roger Mahood it’s cool to own a aging Hotel, it’s not cool to not keep it clean, nor address issues...
