I have done more than 20+ different escape rooms and this place by far is the worst one! My sister and I took our kids to try it out and of course since they are younger they helped a little but we did most of the work. We had about 7 mins left and we were on the last part to escape when the dresser that pretty much gave us most of our clues malfunctioned. We kept asking for help on why it wasn’t opening and both the owner and her helper which was a man just kept saying that the second number has 2 options and to choose the 2nd one. We had the answer correct! Watching the timer go down to zero and still couldn’t open the drawer. Then when the owner came to the room she realized that it wasn’t working and tried to reset it a few times and it still didn’t work! How can we pay for a game to ESCAPE when your equipment FAILS!!! I asked to be reimbursed back and she kept saying that it was our fault. We walked outside and she then tried to blame the kids and said that’s why we don’t recommend children under 10! What does the kids have anything to do with your equipment not working!! Like I said in the beginning my sister and I did most of the work!! Here is feedback for your business: when customers complain about your service or rooms then you need to actively listen and take note of what needs to be changed or done and provide better service by understanding their frustrations! Remember that you are NOT the one paying to have a good time, you are on the other end receiving payment and you need to stop throwing excuses and putting the blame on other people because they give you a bad review! Only reason you got 1 star from me is because I had to pick one otherwise it would be ZERO! Don’t waste your money here!!!!........................TO YOUR REPLY......... “We did so, actively monitored your game and practiced extra patience while seeing props abused.”..This is all coming from the same person that said they didn’t monitor the cameras so they not sure What happened!!! At the end of the game you reset the circuit breaker 4 times and saw for yourself that it didn’t work..... “Nevertheless errors might happen, you were at the very last step to escape, technically made it all, but the stuck drawer. Meanwhile demanding refund after you finished the game 99%,”.....Well I payed for a service to be done in full that’s like going to get ur hair done and the blow dryer breaks and u have to pay full price because half ur hair is dried! Object is to escape not come “close” and then get screwed because ur equipment fails. Respectable thing is a partial credit for malfunctioning equipment would have shown...
Read moreBad business. Go somewhere else where they use ethical business practices. I rarely leave a negative review and love leaving reviews for those that have good business practices but this place needs a shout out for the awful service we received tonight. I purchased gift certificates for me and my family to go here for an escape room experience. I had 7 gift certificates, 1 for each person. I made an appointment yesterday for this evening. When we arrived this evening the gal at the front informed me that the owner said I could not use my gift certificates. That I could only use one for one person and we would have to pay for the rest. After almost an hour of sitting there and a non responsive owner (she wouldn’t answer the employees phone calls to her) we left. The owner of this business is greedy and using unethical business practices. Gift certificates are the same as money to your business. If you are looking for a positive experience, please take your business elsewhere and DONT buy gift certificates as gifts for anyone! For the girl working behind the counter, I’m sorry. You were very kind and I can tell you are overworked and underpaid. Thanks for your kindness. You...
Read moreIf you are familiar with escape rooms, definitely avoid this one.
I’m my opinion there are two types of escape rooms. The first are the ones that have great stories, themed rooms, and a myriad of surprises. The second are the type that lock you in a room, with 10 locks, and say, “open the locks. That’s the game.”
Maybe I’ve been spoiled because every escape room I’ve been to prior to today has been the former, but Code To Escape is definitely the latter.
The game was fairly easy, we needed two hints to point out obvious things, which unfortunately is not a testament to how difficult the room was, but instead how uninterested we were as players.
I’d also like to point out that the instructions we were given before the game specifically say that there are no physical barriers, but we had to take a panel off the wall. Since that seemed to be contradictory, we asked if we could do that, and the only response was laughter.
I almost think that if you have never been to an escape room, this might be an okay experience for you, but I’m hesitant to recommend it because there are so many better options and I’d hate for you to think that they’d all be...
