Modish Hijab — Attraction in Dearborn

Summary: I was gifted with a custom everyday hijabi styling experience, I LOVED it, and I think this should be a permanent Modish Hijabs offering to their clients (for new and veteran hijabis!) because this did wonders for my style and confidence.

I have been wearing hijab since 2009– to give you perspective, I was one of the OGs who suffered the two piece hijab phase and the “looking like an egg” phase before tutorials on YouTube were accessible (not even instagram could save me, because that didn’t even exist yet haha). Somehow though, many years later, I felt that tutorials were always so tough to follow- there is always a missing angle, the lengths are hard to gauge on the screen, & the products needed were links to obscure websites that you had to take a gamble on. It was so easy for me to get frustrated and just give up on the whole thing.

Enter Modish Hijabs! I was visiting from out of town when my friends surprised me with a hijab styling session. Typically, their styling services are for special occasions and parties but Nada, the owner, went above and beyond to help me discover an everyday hijab style that truly works for me. She has been styling hijabs professionally for over 12 years — even from my short time with her, you can really tell she puts her heart and soul into this business.

What made this experience so special was how thoughtful and practical it was. We always put so much effort into looking great for big events, but we wear our hijabs every single day—so why not invest in learning how to style them comfortably and beautifully?

Nada took the time to give me a personalized tutorial. She evaluated how I wore hijab in relation to my everyday life to understand what my needs were. Then she walked me through different styling techniques, adjusted my technique, explained what works best with different undercaps, and shared a ton of tips that have already made a difference in my daily routine. She also validated and normalized the struggles I have throughout the day with my hijab. I love the fact that it’s a women only store, so you can really feel free to get the hang of your personal hijab style. We picked a style and material that suited me best and from there it was off to the races!

Nada also took a little bit of extra time to show me a few of the scarves that she hand picks from Türkiye! The scarves themselves were incredible—high-quality, stylish, and so comfortable. I ended up purchasing a premium chiffon scarf, a cotton undercap and a jersey undercap.

Even though my styling session was one-off custom request, I highly, highly recommend asking for something similar. I really do think this is something that should be offered as a class or package to hijabis (and this is me with my MBA cap on but I think pricing this service to automatically include a new scarf, a new undercap, & whatever pins or magnets are required so clients have a new starter kit to take home would be ideal).

Today an AMAZING young woman name, Sally helped me find hijab for my sisters Engagement Party! She was so sweet and extremely kind and helped me so quickly and effortlessly. She even took the time to show me how to properly pin it- to make it look nice for the party. She honestly made my day. I am a new Muslim woman, so I am very shy and I don’t know much about how to pin a scarf or the styles. When I went in, I was somewhat flustered and embarrassed- this amazing young woman was so extremely kind and not once made me feel out of place or uncomfortable. Not to mention the scarf she picked out for me was absolutely gorgeous. The material was so light and breezy for the warm weather and it looked perfect. I really really hope the owner reads this, and just truly realizes what an amazing young woman she has working in her store. I am now a lifelong customer. Of the product would make you come back, but it’s the warmth and the customer service that made the entire experience so worth it. Thank you...

I always see this shop on TikTok and I love how caring the creator Is so I decided to order via the website.

The website was easy to navigate… so many choices it was hard to pick. I received my tracking number quickly and today I got my package.

I ordered 2 under scarfs. They are so comfortable and they are very soft. I ordered 1 classic jersey hijab and it is literally the softest thing I have ever felt in my life. (I have a weird texture issue) and this was so soft i can’t stop touching it 😂😂😂

I ordered 6 chiffon hijabs of different colors and I thought they looked good on the screen but in person the colors are so rich and beautiful. The chiffon itself is amazing and the stitching is perfect. These are very nice quality.

The hijab pins I ordered there’s not too much to say but I do like they are of good quality. Sometimes it’s hard to find a decent pin so I’m mentioning it lol
