Staying at Druid hill was an eye opening experience for me. From the second you make your way through the entrance you can feel a shift in energy to a very calm and zen state.
Clark has created a safe space from a very chaotic world that he has dubbed the mechanical river, turning the wheels of industry and draining the souls of commuters in the mundane ritual of day to day life.
He has created soul pluckers and sky splitters which he uses to pluck the hypnotized souls from their lowered state of transit back and forth to work, he then manufactures psychic unity and stitches the sky back together to protect his safe haven he has created here.
One thing that truly touched me from the week I spent in Druid hill was how in depth Clark has been able to convey the path we all fall victim to in life. Trading our precious time and souls potential for money and “the man”.
Clark’s experience on air b&b is something I would highly recommend for everyone to experience. Getting to step inside of a true artists brain for 3 hours is a very beautiful experience, he’s a man who has seen this life with incredibly open eyes and reflects it back to you in all of his work.
Being a growing artist myself I was able to deeply appreciate seeing someone who has lived his truth and created his art fearlessly, and done so in a way that he can communicate exactly how he perceives this reality in a very clear manner.
This place was a very sacred and healing experience and I hope that if you are planning to travel through Atlanta, Georgia you stay here yourself or take some time out of your trip to experience this amazing, one of a kind place.
DRUID HILL...
Read moreThis should be near the top of “cool things to do in Atlanta.” If you appreciate art and enjoy hearing artists talk about their work, take your first opportunity to visit this amazing series of installations. We visited Druid Hill yesterday evening in an Air BnB adventure. I have lived in this part of Atlanta for a long time and have seen Clarke’s work from the street, but in person it’s staggering. He gave a guided tour of the whole place. Front and back yards are filled with metal sculpture of all sizes - huge towers with kinetic features and all kinds of symbolism., well-crafted and beautiful in every detail. Everything tells a story and many of the pieces go together in sequence. Then we retired to a well-ventilated small performance space where he played a slide show and shared a lot of historical research he’s done about the property, and THEN Clarke, who’s also a musical recording artist who sings and plays guitar, played us a short set of his originals and cover songs. Easily the one of the most entertaining evenings I can remember. The next time Druid Hill will be open for tours is scheduled for some time in November - keep a lookout...
Read moreSuch a cool and unexpected experience! It was doubly unexpected for me because my boyfriend didn’t tell me where we were going, and I had no idea that the house with cool metal sculptures out front had even cooler metal sculptures out back! I felt like I was just hangin with the coolest kid on the block, listening to his stories and songs, engaging with his art, chatting about life and the universe and everything. If you like unusual, intimate experiences that let you feel like the cool kid for a few hours, I highly recommend...
