it was Sunday, and we are seated at exactly 7:33. The hostess was nice enough, I believe her name was diamond and she told us it would be about 20 minutes and it was, it took us a while to be greeted, the chips and salsa came out quickly … that being said, the chips were way overcooked tonight.. I heard the table beside us and behind us say the same thing, that they tasted a little burnt, and very brittle , but no big deal. We ordered two margaritas, a frozen one and a margarita on the rocks. It literally took 22 minutes for them to come out, and when the one on the rocks came out, I could tell that it had either had sat at the bar for a while because there was only ice on top and it was melted down. I let the server know and a manager immediately brought me out another one .. How much it also looked like it was very watery with only ice on top, only after I felt the bottom of the glass that I realize that they had poured it into a hot glass… not great! Then we literally got our food one hour after we were sat! When I ordered, I ordered the Mexican burger, medium, and I mentioned that I’d like my fries well done. After the food finally came after a very long time I tasted a french fry, and it was cold, everybody tasted them and agreed and said that they couldn’t believe that they serve them… not even warm , cold! Then I cut my burger in half and it was well done, and to top it all off the bun on it was stale and hard… like one that has been sitting out all day… keep in mind We had been there for an hour already. The Server knew something was wrong when she saw how I cut into the burger and it was well done and that we were tapping the bun commenting on how hard it was. The server, I believe her name was Michelle, from Czechoslovakia was very nice and immediately got the manager. (I think his name was Francisco.) This was the same manager, who brought out my margarita who he knew very well, was served in a hot glass since he carried the glass in his hand. he immediately came over and started to grab the plate to say let me make a new one, but at this point I was over it… I didn’t want to wait for any more time for food that should’ve been out a lot earlier.! I showed him that the burger was well done and I ordered medium, and then I tapped on the burger bun with a spoon, which made a tapping sound which a fresh bun would not. I then picked up the fries to show them that they were cold, not even warm. He did not even apologize, he just took the plate away and asked me if I wanted anything else and at this point, I said no and he walked away. I already felt like I had been held hostage for almost an hour and a half… he then talked to the table behind us that also had a quality issue. He never came back, never apologized. The funny thing is, I work in a restaurant and things do happen, but it’s how you fix problems and do what you have to do to make the guest happy when they leave…I think at this point he just wanted to get through with his shift and be gone. So they took my meal off, and I tipped the server in cash what it would have been 20% before they comped my food… Even though I felt they should have done a little more (after all the food took over an hour and my first drink was watered down . My check was going to be bought by one of my guest, But he was so disappointed in everything that I picked up the check and I told him that he could take me elsewhere another time… You have spent a lot of money, renovating a place, but if you don’t take care of the guest, when something goes wrong, they will not come back. … and they tell a lot of people. Maybe they should remember one happy guest tells a couple, one unhappy guest tells a lot more. On my way out, I gave him another chance to apologize, and he just looked at me with a blank stare.
Update!… So when they leave a little note at the bottom after a bad review apologizing, they say “ please contact us”, it must be just for show. I contacted them last week and I still not have heard a thing. I guess to them it looks...
Read moreMy friend and I went to the restaurant for a dinner just us too. When we got there we immediately asked to sit outside on the patio we are too elderly ladies and enjoy the fresh air we were immediately told by the server that we can sit outside did not give us a reason. About 5 minutes after we sat down we noticed a few tables outside were being occupied by those of another race but only those of that race and everybody else was being turned down later on we were given the excuse that the patio was not open until 4:00. We got there at 4:15. Also upon leaving we wanted to take our margaritas with us per the new Georgia ordinance. The server would not let us and said he would get in trouble if he made any cocktails to go. I pulled up the ordinance on my phone showed him the law explained it to him. He said he did not know that. But still he wasn't going to educate himself in time to let us take the drinks and if he made them then the manager would have him in trouble. We asked to speak to the manager. He sells us that there was no manager there. His name was Francisco. So when I got home I called back to speak to the manager and complain because I didn't spend money on these margaritas and wanted to finish them at home. I actually speak to the manager and the person who answered the phone put us on hold and then a manager picked up. We asked what the manager's name was before we proceeded to speak. So I was surprised the manager's name was Francisco. I begin to tell him who I was to see if you remember me and to see if this was the same Francisco because there could be two people that were the same name but no he remembered exactly who I was and he admitted that he was the one who spoke to us and said that there was no other manager there he did not disclose us that he was the manager but he did say that he did not know about the new law instead of educating himself or asking someone else he just denied us access to the patio and denied us our right for our drinks and it took probing and a lot of questioning a lot of asking and arguing for us to get the name of the store manager who he says is not there until...
Read moreAs someone who has visited many La Parrilla locations across Georgia, Atlanta, and the surrounding areas for years, I can say with confidence: this restaurant chain sets the standard for hospitality and flavor. La Parrilla stands out not just for its friendly atmosphere but also for its consistently delicious food. Every dish seems to be crafted with great care, following a masterful recipe. That’s why you experience the same fantastic taste across different locations — a rare achievement among restaurant chains.
In particular, their chips and salsa clearly stand above most other Mexican restaurants across America. Their pricing is also very reasonable, and the consistency in pricing across all locations builds a strong sense of trust and loyalty. La Parrilla strikes a remarkable balance between quality and affordability.
And of course, there’s Carlos… At one of the locations, I had the pleasure of meeting Carlos, who brings an energy and service level reminiscent of a football legend. Remember Roberto Carlos, the legendary Brazilian left-back? Known for his incredible speed, dynamic plays, and intelligence on the field — well, Carlos at La Parrilla mirrors that same excellence in the world of hospitality. He handles orders flawlessly, delivers service at lightning speed, and connects warmly with every customer, turning a simple meal into an artful experience.
