This is our go-to neighborhood park. The playground has play structures appropriate for both our hyperactive six year old, and our more sensible and reserved three year old. A few pavilions housing picnic tables are kept clean and tidy, and the park includes a tennis court and small soccer space for little ones. Within a short walk you also find a Dekalb County Public Library, and some wooded walking spaces.
Our weekends these days nearly always include an hour or so on the playground, a walk around the park looking for interesting fungi to discuss and identify, and a trip to the library for reading material for the week.
The county keeps this in-town space clean and tidy. There is an older harmless homeless fella we sometimes see in creases around the senior center who keeps to himself and is respectful of space. (Not sure if anyone has tried to offer him services, but suspect so.)
Anyhow, this is a terrific family park with something for everyone....

There is a sign with a bit of history of what the water works looked like before falling into disrepair in the 1940s. It was fun to snap photos and explore the remains. We encountered varios wild life, even caught a beautiful cardinal in action.
We encountered quite a few walkers, runners, even an organized charity walking event. If you park in the back, be mindful of the occasional tennis ball overboard.
This is a nice park the whole family can enjoy and...

Mason Mills is a great little escape situated smack in the middle of Decatur (Atlanta area) the playground is still currently closed due to covid19 thankfully the little woodsy trails that wind through out the park work as a family friendly alternative. There's paths a variety to choose from ranging from bike friendly lamea to winding dirt trails criss crossing over streams. Outside of woodsy area..there's a small field by a multi-use Pavillion. Across the parking lot from the Pavillion are multiple tennis courts with stadium-esque seating. Great park, bring a mask, be mindful of social distancing. Totally worth...
