I take my 1year old daughter here as much as possible. She always has a great time. Full of stay at home moms/dad's and nannies during the weekdays. They have two playgrounds, one for older kids that has 2 giant slides and swings and another for kids 2-5 that has 3 slides, but only 2 toddler swings. Luckily the moms take a lesson of their own in sharing. Overall the park goers are nice and friendly and it's easy to spark up a conversation about ear infections or your childs recent growth spurt with a local mom. The ground is made from bark and something underneath that's very soft, so falls don't become an end all be all for the little one. The water fountains seem to be out of order. The bathrooms are usually clean. They also have 3 pavilions and grills. You can walk a lap around the playground while watching the kids if they're old enough to play on their own. There's also a nice walking path just past the parking lots. I haven't checked to see if I can ride my bike anywhere, though I've seen the younger kids ride their tricycles, big wheels, and bikes around. Overall grab a blanket, water, snacks, sunglasses, sun screen, and a good book because the kids will be there for awhile. :) Hope to...
Read moreAwesome park and playground for the North Decatur area. It's got two distinct playgrounds, one for the older kids and one for the toddlers. They are attached, so you can keep an eye on both from the parent benches all around them. The building attached is a senior center but I believe the auditorium/event room can be rented for parties. They also have plenty of parking, a sport playing field, a couple of covered picnic table areas with BBQ grills, a nearby scenic paved walking/running trail, a gardening area and the Dekalb Tennis Center. Bathroom building is in the middle of...
Read moreMy husband and I love this trail for jogging. We start near the community garden and make it all the way to the baseball field and back. The hills are great for cardio and there are always friendly/respectful people on the trails. Never have any issues with noise or rudeness. Dogs are always on a leash and kids are well behaved. There are ongoing trail expansions going on to date so we can't wait to see what else is in store. The trail is roughly 2.1 miles from end to end with both boardwalk and concrete surfaces. The train trellis is beautiful and the entire trail is...
