Golf House Academy — Attraction in Decatur

I've been playing golf for many years and have had the opportunity to work with some really top-class coaches in South Africa, England and the USA. After working with Tim Stewart for the last couple of months, I can honestly say that I'm swinging the club better than I ever have. I've also gained almost 10mph of club speed through the bag -- which is no small thing at age 55!

Tim has a clear understanding of the fundamentals of the golf swing, is able to communicate them effectively and adapt to the tendencies of the individual student. He is not rigid in approach or method, but neither is he a "Band Aid" instructor who is going to give you one swing thought and tell you to go out and play. I feel like each lesson builds on something from the previous lesson, and sometimes it's not necessarily what either of us expected, but there's progress every time.

The Golf House facility itself is top of the line, with just about every piece of modern golf coaching technology known to man, plus the opportunity to also practice very effectively on their full swing and putting simulators. All the staff are friendly and switched-on and it's just a nice place to spend time.

My only regret so far is making the mistake of also sending my beginner golfer son to Tim. He's getting better so fast that he might be beating me straight up fairly soon. And that will be a sad day for...

I was looking for a beginner lesson for adults that were well priced and I found this one and was able to book into a same-day class. I've been on a driving range maybe 4 times and have never had any formal guidance whatsoever. Took the adult beginners class with Tommy Chun - first of all, setup is great with capacity at 4 people at a time. Tommy is awesome - super upbeat, really knowledgable, and an awesome coach. The clinic got immediately into skills and I learned something new within my first 5 minutes. The class was well-paced with lots to learn and lots of time to practice on your own. Tommy does a great job of getting you personalized guidance throughout the class and keeping you motivated - not only did I learn a lot by the end but I had a lot of fun doing it!

They have a lot of class times throughout the week and with their packages you don't need to commit to the same date/time every week if you want something more flexible. I did the 1 time trial class to see how it went and I will definitely be back! Would highly recommend to anyone who is new to the game or looking to get some professional guidance to improve!
