9th St Boardwalk — Attraction in Deerfield Beach

We visited Deerfield Beach boardwalk and pier and have to admit what a pleasant surprise it was. We live in Fort Lauderdale and wanted a change of pace. Deerfield Beach boardwalk was clean, pleasant looking, beautifully landscaped and plenty of benches for people to sit on. There's a grassy area between the sidewalk and the beach for people to lounge on. Plenty of space on the sidewalk for walking at a safe distance, concrete benches every few feet and a tiki hut. Did I mention how CLEAN it is. There's metered parking or you can park in the garage and walk, it's only a couple of minutes away. The street is a one way and the traffic is quite congested....

Beautiful beach on a beautiful day with beautiful people. What's not to like? Well.. the meter parking doesn't take bills and the local convenience store won't change your bills for you, but the meters do accept cards with readers that would be obvious if tampered with. (Always check any outside card readers, though mostly at gas stations) The payments are in hourly segments and require you to input your vehicles license plate number.
