I received a gift from a family member that they purchased from Sportsman's Warehouse. They gave me the gift receipt. I went to return the item that cost about $120.00 and they offered me store credit even though I had the receipt. I said to just put the original money back on the purchaser's credit but they would only do that with the original receipt. I could only find $80.00 worth of items I was interested in so I did not exchange the item. The family member is hour or longer from the Troy or Lansing locations. With a receipt I see no reason for such a hassle. Dunham's has better return policy as does Meijer as does just about anywhere else. This is not the 1980s or 90s. Get with the times Sportsman's Warehouse.
So my amazing family member took the time to mail me the original receipt so I drove 22 minutes one way to return the item. Clerk says oh best we can do is gift card. I said no way get the manager up here. I tell them about being a reward member etc they say ok we can do this. Then they couldn't. So I called the number on the response to this comment and they want to send me a shipping label and box to send it to their online warehouse and will only refund it once they get the item and the receipt. I say why can't you have your associate here at the store take the picture send it to you restock the item and refund the card. Sorry can't do that. This company has zero profitability sense. Terrible. When the recession hits hard I give them 6 months. Oh and the store manager between the hours of 6pm and 7pm on January 6, 2022 didn't want to resolve the concern. There is no doubt in my mind that there is some type of override button. Hope this gets to the Manager's manager of the Lansing store and it shows up on his performance review under "Leadership" as lack there of. From the look on his face he's burned out already due to the incompetent computer system. I actually felt a little...
Read moreI drove a good hour on 12/30 to visit this store for the first time. Wanted a certain Vortex scope that was on sale. Upon entering the store and making it down to the optics / gun counter, I picked a number to get service. Waited around for a good 20 minutes only to find out that the customer service display to show who's up didn't do a thing.. Finally, a store employee behind the counter asked if I had a quick question. I pointed to the sales ad which was displayed on a 8" sign on the counter for a vortex viper 6.5-20x44 bdc scope at $269.99 and asked whether they had any left.. The reply was yes, and I said great, I'll take one. 10 minutes later he emerged back from the rear storage room, and had a scope in a box. Waited another few minutes till I was told, ok we can go to the front to check out but I had to be escorted while the employee carried the scope to a cashier. Seemed a bit odd cause Jay's does not do this with customers. Up front I waited another 10 or so minutes to make it to a cashier. He rang up the scope and told me it's $317.99 w tax. I protested and told him to call back at the optics counter since it was advertised on sale for $30 less right there!! He walked over to talk to his manager i assume and returned a couple minutes later with the remark "we can ring it up at the sale price." I replied "don't make it sound like you're doing me a favor. It's advertised in store and online at the correct price!! I paid and walked out. Needless to say I'm not impressed. The whole process took 3x longer than necessary. The store didn't have any positive vibe or atmosphere. The employees seemed slow and the process of walking an item out to cash registers across the entire store shows poor policy and inefficiency. Next time I'll just order online and recommend anyone else do the same to safe a bunch of time and...
Read moreWent in today to pick up a gun my husband had ordered for me online. No big deal. He's purchased their before, I'm a newbie and this was going to be my first experience/purchase. Went in with order number and my ID and info. My husband was meeting me there to help complete the process. Everything was fine, until this older man "looked like santa" minus the jolly refused my sale, no explanation at all. He was very rude and condescending. I asked why. Again no explanation, after a few times of no explanation I told him I wanted something in writing to ensure refund. He refused, told me he can't, so you can't write on a paper anything to guarantee refund? He told me no. I walked away as my husband was walking up. His rude condescending attitude continued until my husband explained he would never purchase from them again and would post a review about it. They looked up his information to see he's been a customer their before and a manager let us continue the sale, with my reluctant attitude at this point did because I didn't want to have to try to fight for a refund. Thank God Patrick helped us at this point. He was amazing. Great personality and very helpful, "he should get Santa's wages added to his" we never once got an apology from Santa "sorry don't know his name" even when he had to come verify info to finalize the sale he just threw another dig about how he can refuse sales to anyone he wants. So Patrick 10 stars santa negative 100. If he's working just wait for another person unless you want to be spoken to like your an idiot or common criminal..... update. Don't have me call customer service when they are no help. .... just don't buy from here....
