Sleeping Lizzards — Attraction in Denton

I’m from the area but am in town on break from school. It’s a beautiful store and I thoroughly enjoyed shopping there, as well as the great items they have. While I do understand you guys are located in a college town, I do believe the owners need to take a look at how they profile and secret shop their customers. Small businesses are important as well as your products, but the male worker made a point to follow me and another friend, who happen to be the only people of color in the shop at the time, the entire time we were shopping. I could feel his eyes as I picked up items to look at them, and until it was in my basket or put back properly, his eyes would stay on me. We live in a world where people do unfortunately steal, but I don’t think that makes it acceptable for the workers to profile and make customers uncomfortable while they are shopping. Great prices and products, but if I ever return to the shop and feel uncomfortable like that again I will make a point to never return and let those around me know this may not be a comfortable shop to support. Hoping it was a one off situation or misunderstanding but the staff should reevaluate how aggressively they approach customers. This is a very small, unique gift shop. I "used" to shop here all the time when it first opened. They had great sterling jewelry back then. Over the years thou, their items have gotten more & more hippie like, but most of all, their service has become non-existing. I stepped into the store yesterday, & was almost run over by one of the 3 owners making her way out. Most owners would have backed up, held the door open for the merchant, etc, etc. Not this one! Once inside, there was a lady behind the counter that was ringing up someone, but she never looked up, never offered a "hello," or even a "kiss my foot!" I was VERY disappointed, as I was giving them another chance, since my last 2 experiences there had been the same way. I not only didn't find what I was looking for as far as merchandise, I didn't find the service I had hoped for either. After 3 failed chances at customer service, I'm done...

This is my favorite gift shop, not even exaggerating, the prices are great. The gifts are so unique, and they support local artists by selling their crafts. I love that they carry local artists jewelry, but also things like cards and unique trinkets. The store is always decorated very nicely. You can find great gifts for everyone. They have great smelling soaps and house sprays. The crystals they carry are priced right and they carry more rare and harder to find crystals than most crystal shops. Even the card section is very diverse and fit to find something for everyone. The home goods are so cute, great for mom gifts. I always have such a good time here. It can take easily more than an hour to look at everything in the store. There is even a small children’s gift...
