Shopping at Azari Rug Gallery was a peak experience for me in making a challenging task easy and rewarding. After a rough year, I needed to make my home glow with warmth and color, and Azari Gallery and staff, with grace and respect, helped me do that.
From my travels, it was easy for me to step into Azari Gallery and bring to mind the images of hardworking men and women rug weavers in villages all over the world. They apply generations of rug-making knowledge, fine hand skills, attention to detail, and remarkable creativity. Each natural fiber thread, each subtle color choice, and every design twist reveals the choice and the real human mind behind each rug. Azari's handwoven rugs truly are works of fine craft and art, with enticing styles ranging from modern abstract to the most sophisticated traditional patterns and motifs. I can't imagine anyone going into Azari Rug Gallery and not finding a rug that absolutely resonates and calls to them.
Azari's selection of rugs could have been overwhelming if it weren't for the supreme customer service I experienced there. Daniel and the entire staff have found just the perfect balance of attentiveness and respect for your own thoughts and decision-making. Mr. Azari and the staff all work in unison as if in some magical process they divine what you like, make it appear before your eyes, and then let you percolate on your decision-making, both in the gallery and in your home. There is no pressure, so the process is exhilarating and fun.
I found Mr. Azari's prices to be extremely fair when compared with lesser quality and limited creativity that is inherent in other ways to buy rugs--online or in stores that have not specialized in rugs for so many years as Mr. Azari has. I went in to buy one, but ended up not being able to say no to several more. It is a very humanity-affirming process to buy a rug that someone worked hard on for you to have as part of your home.
The rugs I bought at Azari Gallery, like friends, will be a daily part of my life for years to come, and I know I will not tire of their warmth, creativity or quality. Now that I have experienced rug shopping at Azari, I couldn't imagine going anywhere else to buy rugs for my home. I am sorry for writing such a long review, but the rug selection is fabulous, and the folks at Azari are amazing and deserve to be lauded.
Thank you Mr. Azari, Daniel and the entire staff for making my rug shopping such a memorable experience of good old-fashioned...
Read moreThis place is awesome. I found it by Googling "rug cleaning" after about 3/4 of a GALLON of white interior latex paint got spilled on our oriental carpet. (Another story, but it involves differences in opinion between husband and wife about how tightly the lid should be put on an open can of paint...) In any event, I spilled the paint one evening when moving some furniture for the renovation of my home office. The gallon of white trim paint with the loose lid, which was sitting on a piece of cardboard next to the rug, got tipped over and I did not notice it until the next day, by which point it covered a huge area of floor AND about two square feet of our 9x11 wool hand-made rug. I LOVE that rug, and that was a baaaaad morning. I know all good-quality orientals are resistant to stains, and I've hosed them off before just using a garden hose -- but this was really beyond hope. The outer edge of the paint had dried, and the middle portions, still wet, had seeped down to the fabric foundation of the rug. Hosing wouldn't work -- but should I try? I called up this place sight unseen, and they were pretty calm about it, sounded like they knew what they were talking about, and I was advised NOT to hose it off, but put a wet towel on it and bring it in. "It's a lot of paint" I explained. They seemed unfazed. "A LOT of paint," I repeated but they seemed fine with that. I did just that and had it in their shop about an hour later. It's on antique row (S Broadway), and is a cool shop, tons of awesome carpets (wish I had about $50K laying about), great feel. Very friendly. Some of the guys took the carpet from my car and laid it out right in the showroom. The owner and the others looked it over and said, "We can get that out." Price was $300 - which was WAY lower than I'd been imagining - and included cleaning the entire rug as well. They seemed confident, but I wasn't... but sure enough, about a week later I get a call, and go in to pick it up. The thing is beautiful - the colors brighter than they were (we'd had it for about 12 years) - and THE PAINT WAS TOTALLY GONE. I mean totally. I tried to tell which corner it was, and couldn't. Mr. Azari, the owner, agreed with me that it indeed was a LOT of paint - and had taken a lot of work, but he stuck with the original price. I paid it, they hauled it back out to the car, and now it's home safe and sound and more beautiful than ever. And now it has another nice story to go with it. Bottom line - THANK YOU...
Read moreWe finally found a beautiful 8x10 rug for our family room! I've been looking for more than 9 months at popular decor stores. Ordered a rug from a retailer. Waited 3 months. Laid the rug in our home and it wasn't right. I found Azari Rug Gallery online. It had wonderful reviews. I stopped in one afternoon and Daniel, sales and design manager, helped me on the spot. They have a large selection which is well organized. I showed Daniel photos of our space and we talked about different rug ideas. I looked at the available rugs and found several options and Daniel also presented terrific options. They quickly pulled the rugs and set them out for me to look at. One of the best things about the process is that they encouraged me to take different rugs home to look at in our space, with our lighting and furniture. I kept them for a few days and returned the ones that didn't work and picked up new options to bring back home. Daniel was helpful and consultative, honing in on things we liked. I never felt pressured to buy anything. He has an excellent design and color sense and was very professional and helpful throughout the process. He is organized and very responsive making the process work easily and seamlessly. Best thing about the process was not feeling pressured to buy but actually getting helpful ideas. And being able to bring home the rugs and look at them in our space. Within a week we had decided which rug was fantastic in our space. We also purchased a premium rug pad from them and they custom fit it to our rug dimensions. Mr Azari is personable and welcoming and maintains a large inventory of both traditional Oriental rugs as well as modern rugs. He also knows and shares the stories of these handmade rugs. Next time we need a rug, I will look forward to shopping here. I won't waste my time...
