Bear Creek Park aka the hat park to the locals is a wonderful place to take a nature walk, enjoy the Platte River as it Cascades through rocks under 3 really neat bridges or ride your scooter or bike. My daughter and I enjoyed walking through the tall grass on man made mini trails. The landscape was plush and super green. The park was clean of debris with exception of a few strange items such as a sterile strip package under the bridge but, overall we enjoyed the scenery. Tons of scooters and the usual bikers taking an evening ride, inhaling the evening's fresh air, with of course a hint of the Platte River. Traffic from 285 was at a minimum therefore, we were able to hear birds in the background with an occasional tune from a few families having a picnic. Overall I would highly recommend the park to anyone looking to break up the monotony of the usual around the block...

The walking trails are beautiful and the playground itself is super nice, but this park felt extremely dangerous to have kids at. The picnic area next to the playground had about 20 homeless people sitting there watching the kids. The ground next to the bathroom and water fountain had tons of blood all over the ground. Everything was tagged with graffiti, and the parking lot was full of people living in their cars. The walking trail was beautiful, but we saw tents out in the trees where homeless people are living, and saw people coming into the park with shopping carts. This could be a really amazing park, but the strong homeless presence made it feel really unsafe, especially with them all sitting and watching the playground. I could not get out of there...

Great outdoor family park when you can manage to avoid negative subhuman better than others type douchebags. Really gotta wonder about ppl that only view others less fortunate in rude, disrespectful ways, while not having a clue about what happened!! Being unkind to others just proves how worthless all of you hypocrites have become. How bout instead of being part problem each of you deep pocketed degenerates do anything nice or helpful to those your so busy looking down upon!!! This world hasnt gotten nicer & each of u must feel so proud knowing your contributions have only resulted in degradation of all our environment. Man up, grow up or reap...

We were excited to find this unique western-themed playground just a few minutes from our neighborhood. #denver #parks #denverplaygrounds #denverfamily #denverkids

This is a very clean park. It has tables and some are covered for picnics. There is Johnny on the spots but the restrooms are still closed. The water fountain is still off. There is a creek near by that I have seen people fishing in and kids wadding in. The bike path goes thur to one side so it's easy to ride here. There is a big open space for soccer, frisbee or kite flying. They also have a small splash pad here as well but I have never seen it in action. Very nice place to play.

It's a beautiful park with lots to do with lots of open space. My family and I go there to enjoy the trails. It may not be the mountains but its a beautiful park in the middle of a city. My only complaint would be the trash. Many people liter all over the place. Pictured is a cool snake I saw in a tree at the park. If you like nature walks but can't go to the mountains this is a beautiful place.
