On 12 December 2023, I had a crisis: I was due in court and oxygen problems (I’m on oxygen 24/7) had me running unbelievably late. I called the library closest to where I was and sobbed to James my tremendous problem, and he quite literally moved heaven and earth in order to help me. So did another very kind gentleman at the front desk who ended up bringing out my material to me in a Lyft car.I am technologically challenged, and my computer is not working, and I had a great deal of trouble uploading a 300 page set of exhibits onto the website. James gave me another email address and worked with me until the exhibits were received, and I am more thankful than words can express.
I think Librarians should run every level of everything, for uniformly they are the kindest, most invested, most resourceful, and smartest people around. This review is a placeholder until I can get back to the library and give them...
Read moreOver all it's a nice library. I just learned that we can now, if you have the library card, you can print up to 100 pages a week I think she said. That's awesome honestly. Take advantage of this while you can lol. I had no problem using the big printer upstairs. The woman working the desk near that printer was informative and I had no problem following her directions. However, I feel it's a good thing I'm a lil tech savvy bc she didn't make a move when I had a small issue. Just stayed the same directions over again. I can't imagine what others might go through trying to do all the steps to print from your phone, through email, then to the printer and done lmao. Everything was organized and clean. Downstairs desk staff were very informative and kind. I did see you could check out at the desks or that's a self checkout. Wish that big printer was on the first floor too...
Read moreNice when it’s open, but that seems rare and inconsistent. I’ve been going to the little library in Sheridan because they are actually open 7 days per week, many hours during those days. I will be redirecting future donations there as well.
upon further research, it seems like all the Denver branch libraries got hours cut since the pandemic, and still haven't returned. But they're still building a new library in RiNo, so I don't know how tight things really need to be? I'm sure the current staff would like to be able to work full-time at their home libraries. I guess I'll just continue to rely on the libraries from other counties and let Denver get itself together. At least the Bear Valley Library parking lot has a lot of interesting traffic/crime to watch while I (and usually 3-4 carloads of other people)...
