I wish to dispel so much of the other garbage reviews in here (any less then 3 stars here should be ignored). 1. I don’t have IBS or other food allergies and am not a weak human when it comes to food as many of the other people reviewing Jade here seem to. I’ve tried damn near everything here now and haven’t gotten sick at Jack squat they offer. 2. This is a great lil “Whole in the wall” restaurant for those who actually appreciate these kinds of places and not just for the nostalgia of their own local food joints. I regularly order from their lunch menu and each cuisine I’ve tried has been been pretty darn good (This is not Crazy 5 star dining experience, again WHOLE IN THE WALL) 3. I think the shrimp is a lil watery though to be fair I don’t like seafood so it’s not my #1 choice & Not a big fan of the packaging of the Breaded chicken options as even just a 20 minute car ride home can often make it less crisp and when that’s your only option of eating the food since there is no seating, that kinda sucks + to folks like myself (& most) I like a crispy bite when I order that kind of food. 4. Portions are great giving me a good quality meal and being filling for a while to come.
Fav go-to is the Lo Mien and crab wontons. (11/10 kisses to the chef)
If you’re looking for a meal $15 or less and you want some pretty damn good options (AND ITS NOT PANDA), this...
Read moreMy family and I have been customers of Jade Cafe since moving to the area in 2008. We used to love their food when we first moved here. Their egg rolls were ACTUAL egg rolls, not spring rolls, the fried rice had vegetables, and the food was worth the price. Ever since the past 5 years or so, even before COVID, the quality of the food has significantly decreased, and the prices have increased. Today was my last straw with Jade Cafe. I have always gotten the sesame chicken, but today I decided to switch things up and get the orange chicken. The texture of the chicken itself was pretty good, since for some reason the sesame chicken is for some reason always crunchy, but the flavor was horrible. It didn’t even taste like orange chicken, and to add to that, they put ORANGE PEELS in the sauce. Weirdest experience ever finding that out. Sad that this place used to be a family favorite, and now it’s just horrible. Luckily, the fried rice is still pretty good, even though the quality has decreased over the years. It’s the only thing I enjoy eating from there. I hope that this wonderful family who owns the place realizes that their quality of food is horrible, and the least they could do is let people know the difference between what an egg roll and spring roll are supposed...
Read moreI asked specifically for general Tao’s chicken since I didn’t see it on the menu. He said they don’t serve it as a combination plate which is an entree, rice and egg roll. So I made a joke about ‘that’s how you get us’. We laughed. Then he said…it’s because of how we make it. Made me want it even more because now it’s special. I said cool…give me that AND an order of rice. Made my own combo. 10 bucks for the rice.
I get home…NO GENERAL TAO’s. I just spent 40 bucks for my wife’s sesame chicken, some lo mien and my EXTRA order of rice. Could have just spent 3 more dollars for the actual general Tao’s entree WHICH COMES WITH RICE. Now I’m at my airbnb with no general chicken and a huge pile of rice after tipping the dude and driving 2 hours from the mountain and then 30 min to where I’m staying. So yeah…thats def how he got me.
Even walked back in and tipped the dude personally for the ‘cool’ conversation before I left….should have checked the bag I guess. Why would I make a big deal about the chicken and not want...
