City Park is a great park located only a 10 minute drive and 20 minute bike ride from Downtown Denver with Ferril Lake at its center with a walkway/bikeway surrounding it. It is a large park with plenty of walking/biking space and grass.

There aren't many parking lots here but finding street parking within the park and around the perimeter of the park is easy and plentiful. I have never had an issue finding parking when visiting here.

One very unique aspect of City Park is that the Denver Zoo and Denver Museum of Nature and Science are located within City Park. I have greatly enjoyed ending a visit to the zoo or museum with a leisurely stroll around the park. I highly recommend it!

One thing that I will say is a downfall of the park is that it is a bit dirtier than other parks that I have gone to. There is not much that can be done regarding the plentiful goose droppings but the trash cans surrounding the park always seem to be somewhat full and emit a foul odor. It is also surrounded by relatively busy streets especially Colorado Blvd so it is not the quietest either.

Overall, City Park is a great place to be active, read a book, or just chill out and take in the beautiful Colorado...

I had my wedding in October. Before the wedding the lady in charge (Elizabeth) was very responsive to e-mails and questions regarding rules and regulations. During the tour I was advised that the hall would be clean for my wedding. Set up started late on my wedding day because the hall was as dirty as It was during the tour and that was weeks before my wedding.

We couldn't set up overnight because the pavilion couldn't do that. So coming in to a dirty hall unexpectedly was very rude and inconsiderate of the administrators.

Also the lady they sent for questions and other things during the wedding was very rude. She didn't speak to anyone and was in a room that made it impossible to find her to ask questions.

After all the annoyance, I emailed Elizabeth to report a complain for the poor customer service and asked her to do something about it but she did not reply to my email, even until now.

This hall is beautiful but if you're a minority, the administrators might not respect you. I surely wasn't respected.

I'll never recommend this venue to any minority. I rated it 2 stars only because...

Loved the place, hated the people that work there! The pavilion is so pretty and did work good for us, but the workers are rude! Had the Pavilion reserved for 9 months before my event, had walk through and the day of, they decide to call me 30 minutes before my wedding and tell me I can't use that bandstand that is next to the pavilion. I had made sure in my walk through they knew I would have half of the event there and they never said anything!! 30 minutes before they tell me that was supposed to be rented separately. They ruined the pictures we were doing at that time and will not do anything for an unhappy customer! They had 9 months to let me know and did NOTHING! They are very rude and won't fess up to their mess ups! All I wanted was some compassion and they were just rude about it. They don't tell you all the information you need to have a perfect wedding day! Instead they tell you 30 min. before...

We rented the Pavilion for our daughter's wedding reception and could not be happier with our choice! Park staff was amazing (thank you, Frank, Thomas and Mark!) We were able to attend several open houses beforehand, which helped with planning. Swan boats were a fun activity for our guests during the social hour! The concessionaire who rents the boats and surrey bikes allowed us to run a tab and pay for the rides at the end of the night. A lovely time all around!

Went to a late afternoon, evening wedding here. First of all, we couldn't even find the pavilion. The signs were terrible, pretty much non-existent. We were right next to it and didn't know it was the pavilion. They also could use some plexiglass on the gates to help keep the wind from coming in as there is no heat. The plus side is you didn't need much for decorations, the light that comes in from the sun and the building itself makes it beautiful.
