Knowing I would be in Denver to drop off a friend at the airport from out of town (on a work day), I looked up "best coffee shops in Denver" this came up as one of the main options and I got excited! It's near the park, easy route back home afterward, and the food looked amazing. I didn't really pay attention to individual reviews because scrolling through at first glance, most were 4 stars or more. All I needed to know! adds to google maps I arrived on a Thurs. morning after 9, it wasn't busy, which I thought was odd, given most coffee shops around me are packed during the work day. I quickly found out why. This place has NO WIFI.* What coffee shop doesn't have WIFI? I understand that there may be a concern about people camping out and buying a coffee and staying for hours, but I had planned to get a full meal and sit and work for a while since I had to drive from out of town. Nope. I found out there was no WIFI, AFTER ordering and getting my food in-house instead of to-go. I had an important work meeting to attend and not enough time to eat and find another place, so I had to use my phone's hotspot feature to make sure I could make the meeting on time.
Food: I could have made it all at home and better. Got a croissant with egg, cheese, and avocado. Then it came with a tiny croissant (why not fruit if I'm already eating a croissant?) and I got the potato salad - which was mushy, and had a squirt of what tasted like Hidden Valley secret taco sauce on top. Not worth the price. I did like the iced macchiato I ordered.
Atmosphere: Cute, but looks tired. Some things need to be replaced, organization inside was messy, and furniture was crowded. There was a pile of torn up books shoved in a corner, plants looked barely cared for, seat cushions were dirty. Plenty of outdoor seating and the weather was gorgeous! Wish I didn't have to work that day or I would have sat outside. EVERYONE who came in while I was there for about 1.5 hrs sat outside.
I think it's a great place to pop in if you're in the area for a quick drink, but other than that I wouldn't waste your time or money on food and management: PLEASE put a sign on your website, or google listing making it very very clear you have no WIFI. People expect it and honestly, because of this very fact, I won't be back. I have a feeling you're losing out on some great weekly traffic and sales...

This place is adorable. There is a bit of seating downstairs and a lot more upstairs in some cute rooms upstairs. Upstairs doesn't have any music and that is not even a complaint, just something noticeable and different from other small restaurants. Every room has a window seat, so there's lots of natural lighting. The ambulance is good. The servers greeted us immediately and were friendly and helpful with our dietaries. They delivered our food and drinks quickly and cleared our plates when they checked on us, even though it is a counter service/self bussing restaurant.
Now to the food. I went with my wife. She got the eggs croissant sandwich and a side of fresh fruit. Her eggs were made over medium, instead of scrambled at her request. The croissant was crispy and her sandwich delicious. The fruit was very clearly freshly prepared and she thoroughly enjoyed everything.
I got the smoked salmon crepe. I ordered a gluten free (yes! Gluten free!) crepe, which is also dairy free. I didn't have to do any edits! It came with smoked salmon, dill, cucumber, avocado mayo and capers. The capers really cut through the smooth, creamy and rich flavors that would have otherwise dominated this dish, and balanced it well. I got the potatoes as my side. They are a soft, mashy like homestyle potato, that are well seasoned and feature one of my favorite spices: cumin. So I had two of my to five spices in the meal, dill and cumin. Overall, the meal was absolutely everything I could hope for and more, especially with the rarity of getting a gluten and dairy free crepe.
That said, our lattes were also incredible. I had a honey lavender with oat milk and my wife had a regular lavender with regular milk. The coffee beans they use must be imported and very special. I've never tasted coffee so good anywhere. I'll always show up here on the weekends to get a latte, even if I can't grab a breakfast every time.
We did also get a sweet crepe, the Nutella with strawberries. It's the only one I took a picture of because it was so inspired. The sweet crepes are not safe for my dietaries, so I did not enjoy it, but it looks so pretty and my wife did say it...
Read moreCafe Miriam will always hold a special place in my heart. While I was living in Colorado, it was my go-to spot to share good food and conversation with friends. There’s truly no other café in Denver quite like it. The staff feel like family, always warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. I recently had the chance to visit their new location, and it was an absolute delight. The updated interior is cozy and inviting. A perfect balance of comfort and charm.
It’s genuinely hard to pick a favorite from the menu, as everything is crafted with so much care. That said, the Jacobs and Caprese sandwiches are always calling my name. And don’t even get me started on the potato side! Perfectly seasoned and downright addictive. I also love taking advantage of their sweet crepe special: when you order a savory dish, you can get a sweet crepe for half price. I always go for the Pommes crepe. While you’re at it, don’t forget to grab a coffee or drink. My personal favorite is their drip coffee with a splash of cream. The beans they use are absolutely top-notch.
Everything about Cafe Miriam exudes love and care. The owner’s genuine commitment to the community and every single customer is clear the moment you walk through the door. If there’s one café I can wholeheartedly recommend,...
