Indulgences Day Spa — Attraction in Denver

My husband and I were visiting Denver and decided we wanted to spoil ourselves on our last day. After doing some comparisons online we decided on Indulgences Day Spa, and we're so glad we did. We booked a 30 min Gentleman's Facial and a 90 min massage for my husband and a 60 min facial and a 60 min massage for myself. My husband said his facial with Rachel was very good (which is outstanding in man talk). And his massage with Cara was amazing. He went in with pain in his calf and lower back and left with zero pain anywhere. For me, the massage with Isaac was easily the best massage I have ever had. He targeted my shoulder on both sides where I was having issues along with my lower back which is always a problem. I was definitely looser and Isaac gave me some tips to help keep my shoulder less angry. The facial I received from Mara was also easily the best facial. She understood what perimenopausal skin is dealing with and addressed those issues. She also gave me some recommendations for some more natural skin care that are easy to find, economical and kind to my skin. Everything Mara used smelled great and felt even better. The spa itself is well appointed, clean, and had everything needed for a relaxing experience. There are showers as well as a good sized steam room to use prior to your appointments. Nice place for a couples massage. Nice atmosphere with some amenities. Steam room was a bit too much, but that's not the worst thing. I was super bummed because I paid close to double the price of what I usually pay, hoping to get a spectacular massage, but walked away feeling the same as when I walked in. The masseuse was new, so I felt bad about it. Nevertheless there was definitely some skills lacking. I think as someone learning, the most important thing is communication and listening. I told her my problem areas, (neck, shoulder, and back). But instead I had nearly 30 mins of my 90 mins spent on my legs. My neck and back ended up with very little love. Probably on par with rubbing my neck myself. I finally had to tell her to move on from my legs. But even so, a lot of her massaging was mostly the equivalent of stretching or large pushes. Not enough kneading. Either way, I was not very pleased when I left. My partner enjoyed his massage, and said that his hot spots were properly worked. So I can't give one star. But I will say that this is an important training opportunity, as well as something for the company to work on with new people they hire, and ensuring they listen to the customer needs. I bought my wife the "La Petite Indulgence" package as a surprise and she just finished up about an hour ago and absolutely LOVED every second of it! Her one hour massage was done by Cassandra. She said she was really great and makes sure she does the type of pressure that you want. It was super relaxing and worth while. Next, her one hour facial was done by Cecil and let me tell you, my wife could not stop raving about it! My wife is 31 years old and It was her first time ever getting a facial and now she wants to go regularly. She has milia and said Cecil did an amazing job extracting them and it wasn't too painful. Cecil also does a REALLY good job at extracting all the black heads from your nose. The products they use are awesome and you leave there feeling like your face was brand new. My wife would highly, HIGHLY recommend this spa and we look forward to going for a couple's massage next time! Lastly, Mike the assistant manager was also very accommodating and helpful with correcting a slight $5 mixup that was just an honest mistake.
