Eh. If you want a personalized and unique experience of a distillery, this isn’t it. Laws is the Burger King of distilleries. Is it palatable? Sure, some of their spirits are delish and I won't deny that. Price point is a tad high IMO. My recommendation is to head here after you’ve been to distilleries that give you the grade A+ treatment, that way once you come here, you’ll know what you like and what you don’t. Why does this matter? There are literally approx 60 distilleries in Colorado (I’ve been there and counted that) and 98% give you the feeling of love and passion of what they do, Laws does not fit that bill. You pick what you MAY like, they pour it out on a one half ounce pour (with three tastings) I’ll reiterate one HALF ounce and you’re on your own with a bowl of pretzels. If you’ve ever felt like you’re bugging the server, this gives you that feeling. You don’t get the one-on-one story or the love of the craft. The tour is just as mediocre.
Laws is the perfect place to roll in for a quick and overpriced tasting with zero explanation. Their liquor is good, but overpriced. I’ll say that I have had WAY worse spirits, credit where credit is due, but they’re not the best, but they are pretty damn good. You’ll pay $80 approx depending on what you purchase, for what you could get literally two blocks in each direction for literally half of the price. (Stranahan’s, Devil’s Head, Break Creek, I could go on, and on and on) I’m not saying not to go here. I’m saying don’t go here for anything special. Barely any seating, barely any service, and barely anything original. Side note: We had to stop here once for a competition and was forced to buy a product to get the "stamp" we needed. This is NOT allowed and they blatantly broke the rules of the contest. I don't support unethical...
Read moreReally enjoyed this tour. They started off with really good illustrated information about the whole process, including explanations of some of the terms used in distilling whiskeys. We were fortunate to be able to see up close and personal the process in action as they were making a batch of Rye at the time. They also give a sample of their 4-Grain whiskey, and the Secale Rye whiskey, along with a demonstration of how best to sample and appreciate whiskeys. Excellent for newcomers to whiskey drinking. The cost is $10 for the tour, which lasts close to 90 minutes. You then get $10 off any purchase of whiskey or merchandise, so you can't complain about the value. You can also do tastings of their complete range at the bar - 3 shots of your choice for $10. I've previously done a similar tour at a nearby distillery, which was excellent, but I think I prefer this tour. Think I prefer this...
Read moreWelcoming feel... for novice whiskey drinkers and connoisseurs alike! Service oriented and friendly staff. The Whiskey lounge is located abive a beautiful spiral staircase and has a warm and inviting feel with a social vibe and views of the Rockies. Great for a girls night or after work socializing... or before a night on the town. There are plenty of whiskey flights to try... but my favorites are the cocktails. The ild fashion is delightful and smooth. But, the black manhattan, with notes of cherry is now a fav of mine! The whiskey church is the first stop of the distillery tour and adds great detail to the story of Laws Whiskey. Knowing the heart makes the whiskey taste better! The staff are excellent at helping folks make a whiskey bottle choice based in likes and dislikes... I'd go back for sure for an...
