An obscure little park, named for an equally obscure Phil Milstein; whose involvement, influence, and vision - anything but obscure - was directly responsible for the City of Denver as it is today, for good or ill. As much as I enjoy a heartwarming story about a white guy overcomimg all odds and becoming a success, this park has an appeal of a different sort for Yours Truly. With the old Denver Water building shooting up past the highway as junkies shoot up by the creek and try to out-babble the water as it wages its eternal war with rocks, I am aware of a very Gotham vibe. Like on a cool November evening one might see a caped crusader high atop the stark, austere monument to man's illusion of dominance, picking his nose with the moon rising fast behind him. An atavistic building not so far out of place in a city that honours and remembers the humble plutocrats that toiled so hard to make Denver what it is today... Like children long grown into adults no longer recognizable as the kids...
