Windsor at Broadway Station is a poorly managed, negligently maintained, overpriced dump of an apartment complex. I would give this place 0 stars if I could.
Update 2/1/24: Windsor is clearly soliciting fake positive reviews to artificially improve the rating and bury true resident feedback. Since I submitted this, two 5 star reviews were left by people living out of state with the last name 'Leathers' which also happens to be the name of a Windsor employee. Shady!
I lived here for two years and can say that it was by far the worst renting experience I've had anywhere, and the only reason I renewed was due to being misled by Windsor as to the improvements being made to address major issues related to maintenance, safety, cleanliness and overall negligent and incompetent property management at renewal time.
First off, the maintenance and property upkeep here are horrendous. Main elevators would stop working and stay down for several months - I'd estimate that in two years here, at least one main elevator was down 90% of the time. This resulted in major inconveniences not only in getting in and out of the building, but also raises significant accessibility concerns as the alternative was often taking many flights of stairs and/or walking longer distances.
We did not have running water in our unit for 10 days at one point, nor did dozens of others in the building. This was due to a core water pump going down and them not having performed sufficient preventative maintenance to notice this before it fully broke, nor did they have a replacement part on hand. Wildly negligent.
We also had an air conditioning fan break at the hottest point in the summer (95+ degree days) and did not have it replaced for weeks because they 'were waiting on a part to arrive' again. It's mind boggling that in a building of 500+ units, they would not keep spare parts around for situations like this.
The main garage door was also almost always broken and stuck in the up position, allowing anyone off the street access to resident parked cars as well as the mailroom. I lost count of how many cars I saw with smashed out windows or how many packages I never received because they were stolen.
Eventually, after many resident safety complaints, Windsor hired 'security' to roam the parking garage. This entailed some pretty unprofessional and ill-equipped people wearing street clothes walking around a couple times per day openly smoking cigarettes and marijuana, despite this supposedly being a non-smoking property.
In addition, the property was rarely cleaned and overall was just disgusting. The smell of dog urine and feces in the hallways became overwhelming, especially in the summer, because of how infrequently carpets were cleaned. The 'gym' was also flat-out gross due to lack of equipment being sanitized - it was also very common for the building to not restock wet wipes making it impossible for residents to clean up after working out. It's also worth noting that the pool, hot tub and communal grills were visibly unclean pretty much the entire time I lived here.
What makes all of this worse is a property management team that was not only wholly incapable of effectively addressing resident concerns, but also quite unprofessional and standoffish on many different occasions when I emailed them about issues mentioned above. It was also extremely common for mass emails from property management to contain inaccurate information and major typos. They were also usually late in providing sufficient notice for important and potentially disruptive events like fire alarm testing, or in-unit inspections - this was very frustrating.
Overall, this was a very unpleasant and negative experience and after taking into account the relatively high cost of living (and marketed as 'luxury living' ), represents a terrible value. With many similarly situated complexes seemingly on every street corner these days in Denver, you could surely pick one at random and find a better value and overall place to live than what you'll get with Windsor at...
Ā Ā Ā Read more10/10 could not recommend a better apartment complex. The building surpasses expectations in every way. I have never been happier in an apartment! Living in Denver, itās incredibly hard to find good complexes that have it all, but we got lucky here! The complex is in a great location, very close to the train station and near plenty of restaurants, bars, and grocery stores. Itās also a safe enough area where as a woman I can walk to these places alone and feel confident that I will be safe. If youāre a dog owner, this place is incredibly convenient with a doggy day care and highly rated veterinarian downstairs, literally 20 feet away, and multiple dog parks both on the property and within a 5 minutes walk away! My dog loves it here, especially because the staff does so much to make her feel loved and at home. The staff is the best leasing staff I have EVER encountered. JayDene helped us find our place and she was amazing and so helpful throughout the entire process and after. We felt excited and informed when moving in, and it was all thanks to her friendly attitude and willingness to do all that she can to help us find a nice home. Even as a resident she is incredibly helpful with things and always has a smile on her face! Jessica is the other leasing agent and she is also extremely helpful and nice. Sheās always willing to do anything and everything to make residents feel at ease and at peace in the community. She has helped me with so much and will always be one of the friendliest people I have ever met. I love them both so much! Nick is the BEST community manager, being extremely accommodating and sweet in every interaction. He has professionally helped me through so much as a resident and personally made my day better countless times with his wonderful personality and personable attitude. Me and my dog are always happy to see him in the office! The creativity and effort that he and the staff put into the resident events and the community as a whole is unmatched. You really feel special and lucky living here thanks to them! The staff couldnāt be better. Maintenance is ALWAYS timely, friendly, informative, and helpful. Iāve never had an issue with them and they have always showed up quicker than expected and fixed any problems we had. Appliances and amenities are never broken to begin with, but on the rare occasion that they are, maintenance gets it handled before we even have time to notice! They are so on top of it here. The apartments are beautifully designed, with spacious rooms, great natural lighting, lots of storage and organization space, and just a lot of comfort in general. I 100% love everything about my apartment from the front door space to the large bathtubs. Very reasonably priced for what you get. My room is the size of a small apartment and thatās not including the bathroom and closet. I cannot believe how large it is! I love living here and cannot recommend a better place to live. Pictures are to show the space I had in my room to create a large art wall, and my dogs being loved so dearly by the staff. :)...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery much convinced that all the 5 star reviews are people who have just moved in because yes that process did go smoothly. This is very much not "luxurious" community. My husband and I only resigned our lease to save us the hassle of moving.
We moved into this building August 2022, and one of the main reasons we picked Broadway Station was because they offer EV charging stations in the parking garage for $95/month. Our lease (current and previous) outlines that we are paying for a parking spot (important for later), and we were assigned a parking number by the assistant manager at the time. We happily paid for this spot for 12 months, we even renewed the lease and said yes, we would like to continue paying for said spot. Imagine our surprise when on 8/7/23 my husband came home to find another car parked in our spot with a new parking permit visible. We assumed a mistake had been made, emailed the office that evening and expected everything would be cleared up in the morning.
The next day we received a response that we in fact did not have a spot assigned to us (then why are we paying $95 a month?) "Our" spot was actually assigned to another resident who had just moved out and the spot was reassigned to a new person. So essentially two different residents were paying for the same parking spot. A fact that does not seem to bother anyone in the office.
Again I ask, if a parking spot was never assigned to me, then why was I paying for one? The rent breakdown on the payment portal clearly has a line item for an assigned parking spot. Do they not keep record of who is paying for parking? This also suggests that Broadway Station does not keep track of what cars are supposed to be in the garage. If a spot was never assigned to me, then why wasn't my car ticketed?
This issue was further exacerbated by the fact the staff assigns the limited number of EV spots to non-EV cars for no discernible reason. The current assistant manager was able to find a resolution by contacting a resident with an EV spot and asking them to switch parking spots. I appreciate that a solution was found within a day, but this entire situation could have been avoided and is the direct fault of Broadway Station's sloppy record keeping and seemingly unscrupulous business practices.
Other fun facts about the community: At least one elevator is always broken Carpets throughout the building are visibly stained Exit egress signs not illuminated (good luck in a fire) Random trash being stored near broken elevator
