Airport Video 2 — Attraction in Des Moines

I used to like coming here to look around and what not a lot. I came all the time and spent a lot of money. I am in no way trying to be cruel or disrespectful with this review , I am sticking strictly with the facts right now. Ever since the woman that is a dark brunette and a bit heavy set, (I apologize for not getting her name—she works nights) started working here, I walk in and I walk right back out any more because the experience inside this establishment now with her present are un-bareable. Just a moment ago, she TWICE not walked but RAN over to the restroom I was occupying, (it’s a single occupancy restroom), and she literally pounded on the door before opening the door really quickly. I had ro raise my voice the second time because I could not believe what was happening. She is situated at a front desk Setup which has a direct view of that restroom—which means she knew that it was occupied. I don’t care what she thought or very inappropriately ASSUMED I was doing inside of there, but regardless—even if I WAS doing something non law abiding or what have you, she holds no authority to single me out and violate my privacy like that. I am a young man and I don’t know what was going on, because she never apologized or explained herself, but I’m left in shock and awe at how unbelievably unprofessional that experience was. I will not be coming back unless she is no longer working there—she takes her job far too seriously and I’ve watched her each time I’m there, she just acts as if she’s the police RUNNING around the facility yelling at people and playing the bad cop. It’s so uncalled for and unwarranted, and it’s unprofessional. Was she discriminating against me for using e restroom? That’s how it felt-it felt as if she didn’t think I deserved to be in the restroom and I’m Not sure if it was because of my race, sexual orientation, what, but that should NEVER be happening. APV I’m very upset at these unacceptable behaviors coming from your night employee, and I will be monitoring this post in the coming week. If I am not offered a satisfactory resolution—then I am contacting the better business bureau to file a complaint against the establishment. I have all the documentation I need and I am poised to take this as far as I need too to get my voice heard and my point across—please hear me out and do something about this because that was so inappropriate she and I’m telling you I have a degree in business—this young lady is BAD FOR BUSINESS and she’s doing nothing but running your loyal customers including myself out of here never to come back. Highly dissatisfied, yet hopeful for an outcome and a positive change to salvage your business before it’s too...

I've been here on and off over the last 5+ years or so. All I can say is this place is a dump. Currently there is no lock on the bathroom door. So annoying people that congregate around the video booths, constantly try to push in the door, despite their being a sign that says it doesn't lock, and PLEASE knock first.

Video booths are horrible, dirty, and offer ZERO privacy. They added on 4 new booths at the very end. These 4 booths have a chain that goes across the opening to keep people out. However, people still lean over to look into the booth. None of the other booths have any chains or doors to keep people out.

Trying to sit down and have privacy is impossible. There is a large group of Latino's that frequent this place and they hover around the video booths like VULTURES. The store clerks rarely do anything about them, despite playing the recording that you have to put money in a booth if you're back there. I see the store clerks check the video booths, but then they don't actually say anything.

The atmosphere and vibe get ruined by the same guys hovering around the booths, and checking each booth every 5 seconds. The first time they looked wasn't good enough, so they have to keep checking multiple times and basically irritating everyone to death.

They used to have really great clerks here, sadly I no longer see any of them. Now they have a young guy with purple hair that sits up front and even plays in the booths himself, but really does nothing to moderate the store in general.

Basically if you want privacy, I'm going to say, go to Taboo Video in Burien instead. The owner at Airport video is cheap, probably has no clue how the store is running, and won't fix simple things like putting a lock on the bathroom door, nor do they allow any kind of privacy.

Same thing goes inside the theater portion. The seats are covered in lube, dirty, held together with duck tape, and obviously need to be replaced. Yet the owner does nothing.

If you like visiting a stinky pit, by all means, come here. If not, look for cleaner establishments that keep up on...

To start off, Not a big review writer as I often do not have the time. But after finding out some things about this place I felt like I MUST. I'll be sure to post this on both yelp and google reviews. Anyways I'm from Seattle so I've seen my fair share of people come and go through this place. Actually considered getting into the business myself... But I am NOT happy to hear recently that Trinity was fired for NO apparent reason after asking a couple of the regulars. Every time that my wife and I came in, Usually once a week for the theatre, or any other needed supplies. :) She was the life of this place. Now this place seems to have a very DULL, Almost corporate undertone, its almost like they're trying to make the video store more corporate in a weird way... Which actually probably should happen from a back business perspective, but they shouldn't change the customer facing aspects that work... In a business like this its all about your marketing, and "sales person". At the end of the day this is who is driving the sales, this is the person that makes people feel comfortable walking in, and this is the person that the regulars come to know, and often times come back to visit for. I cannot say enough good things about Trinity. She was always working, She always had a great attitude, She knew the products inside and out, and she seemed to really drive this business. This place will definitely suffer from her termination. As a business owner myself I'm sure they will see a significant drop in sales. (ohh well). Typical mismanagement, probably being managed by someone who has NO IDEA how the hell this business works. I Guess my wife and I will go to Secrets, and I will make sure that all of my friends do the same instead of coming here for our fun. A response from the owner would be nice.
