James Lee Park — Attraction in Destin

This park is very good. I went in the middle of September easy to park. There is not too crowded. I am not sure when very busy time or season. Sand is while that is beautiful. You see some little trash in the sand but no big one it’s alright. Got Restroom and change room by the side of beach. It pretty clean. Also you got 2 sunshade as well, it feels like picnic area it all got chairs and tables in it. I see they have borrow bin kids can use some of toys play at beach then turn it back in. Lifeguard is very accountable. Very active drive around with ATV. What else I can say, my kids very enjoyed here she try stay at beach all day long. We saw some jelly kind stuff at beach it look like dead jellyfish. So I will come again next time when I am available. And try some more local restaurants as well. It's a beautiful stretch of beach like the rest of the Emerald Coast. However, I did notice on this last visit that the pavilions are no longer lit in the evening. I am pleased to see this because before they were lit with bright white bulbs which are not safe for the turtles, but it would be nice if they added some of those turtle safe lights for safety for visitors too. Beautiful white sand beach along the emerald colored Gulf. My daughter had her wedding here! Perfect weather. Gentle waves in the background. Perfect setting! Beach wheelchairs are available after Memorial Day. Contact city or Park to reserve. With help, I was able to reach the water with my walker. My friends waved down the lifeguard who gave me a ride to handicap access when I was ready to leave! Very helpful! Go early to claim your spot. Don't forget...
