We visited for the speakeasy experience this past weekend and had an absolute blast. We were a group of four and didn’t know what to expect. It was so well organized, a kind and welcoming crowd, and very well staffed. There were puzzles and riddles, and lots of things to see and do to keep people engaged in between the beverage tastings. I imagine most of the folks who put the event on are volunteers, and you can tell they deeply care about the history, buildings and grounds. Saturday was still chilly, but people were having fun. Admission was limited and masks were requested. Most of the public complied. No dance schools this year, but plenty of live music. The vendors were mostly local artists with a few import shops. All vendors fit the festival theme with quality goods.
Two food trucks provided festival food. The Tavern kitchen served Corned Beef & Cabbage, a Guiness stew, and other Irish fare. I tried the Tavern plates and...
