I love this little theater. It has a certain intimacy to it because of its size. We have been there for different occasions from my daughter's band performing to the Downey symphony orchestra performing. They offer various concerts and free events. It has two floors, but I'm not sure that there is an elevator for the second floor. They remolded the restrooms not that while ago, they are really nice but there's only a few so there will be a line if you need to go. The only problem that I find is the parking. A nice performance venue in the city of Downey. It was my first time coming here. The staff were friendly and professional. Kudos to you all.
The theater houses a good sized stage with balcony and orchestra seating. The temperature was just the right amount of chill, however, if you tend to get cold, a light sweater will suffice. What was truly impressive (which matters a lot for me) is the acoustics. It was fantastic. Well set up and balanced; audibly satisfying.
I'm sold on this venue and I am looking forward to attending other shows here in the future. Awesome job...

They were successfully able to bully and overcharge Downey Civic Light Opera out of existence in 2013. They are unable to fill the theater seats with their second rate one-night productions and the city is forced to bail them out financially. The safety of the stage performers at Downey Theater is even at question now due to VenueTechs complacency and lack of professionalism.
